I have to say that I am having the most trouble beating varus in the laning phase as Cait on adc or as leona/lulu support. Admittedly, I have not tried Graves or Sivir (which would avoid his bursty e) and I am not very good as Janna so I didn't try that either. Not really sure what Janna can do to that lane either besides disengage the fight. Either way you lose the trade because of how good Hail of Arrows is for trading...

Just checked championselect.net and the matchups were supposed to go exactly as i said x.x

I don't play SR much anymore but her disengages plus shield should nullify most of Varus abilities. That is if it is a good Janna, I remember when I supported and just threw shield on when it was off of CD. Oh the good role days!

I feel the same way with MF. You get outrange her with your Double Up and your W hurts as awell. That said, I've been riding MF and Sona as my two champs out of Silver V into Silver IV.

You don't need a 100% win percentage to get out of Bronze. You just need to win a solid majority of your games. Counterpicks don't matter at that level if your skill is better than theirs. I often times think there is too much focus on picks, counters, and meta (they are important but shitty players can ruin anything) and not enough focus on actually playing well.

Once you are out of bronze, then worry about that stuff.

Counter picks only really matter at very high elo, where people know exactally how to play champions. For example: at low Elo, people will pick Lee sin to counter Akali; however at high Elo Akali should actually win the lane.

Even hard counters can be circumvented. An example of this is AP Sion vs. Ryze. Sion should never even get to farm the entire lane phase; however a good Sion would wait till level 3 or 5, and start roaming on lanes forcing Ryze to either push the tower(Which he is terrible at) or counter gank. With proper warding Ryze would probably counter gank better than Sion could gank; however at low Elo Ryze would probably end up losing the game because he wouldnt know what the proper counter play is to a hard roaming Sion.

Pick what you are good at, and simply out play and out think your opponents. However if you want to secret to low level pub stomping; play global ult champions. Shen, TF, Pantheon, Nocturne. People will rarely have the presence to account for the extra variable during lane. Gank one lane over and over and over. The point is to demoralize their team and get them yelling at each other. Just imaging pantheon getting a double kill on bot lane. All the sudden their mid will be yelling at bot for feeding his lane. They will yell at mid for not calling MIA, top will get mad at the incoming loss because his team sucks. And the jungler will be yelled at by everyone for not ganking bottom as often as you are. I guarantee if you can accomplish that(The team yelling at each other), they will fold over.

Indeed, if you can play a handful of champions at 90% effectiveness (learning the nuances of each matchup and how to come out on top) rather than 100 champions at 50% effectiveness you'll be better for it. This means not just running 1 rune and 1 mastery page then yelling at your jungler for not ganking because you're losing your lane match up hard; it's about anticipating what the enemy is going to do and countering it. For example, in mid, if I'm against LB I'll run HP quints, MR Yellows and Blues; the instant I get back into lane with a null mantle, she has absolutely no killing potential. Unless I play absolutely retarded, I can predict the MAX damage a LB can do to me; her CDs are long and her combo is extremely predictable. But god, I'll still see mids running only AP runes and having +0 MR in mid against LB and then they'll do nothing but bitch at their jungler for not ganking all game.

edit: another story, long time ago dant and I decided to queue for draft normals. We ended up facing a 2.3k ELO Diamond Vayne player that absolutely crushed our Taric + Varus. The fucker tumble dodged everything, used brush to sit out stun timer and just made some strong mechanical plays. I crush 99% of Vaynes. imo, Vayne vs Varus is a joke match up and is easily won by Varus, but I was crushed by PURE mechanics. It was insane.

Sivir is super cheap and is a great underrated champ. Great farm, good harass.

I think that the reason that she isn't as preferred is that her mechanics are kinda mundane, and her steroid is on her ult and she kinda doesn't do things as well as some more modern champs.

But it is great to learn ADC on her.

I love me some Sivir. Was my most played champ in S2, had a 70% win rate with her. I just like that a lot of her mechanics shut down "OP" champs. Blitz and Taric turn into mana potions, and it's super easy to farm and keep the lane steady. Very safe champ.

I've been sticking with Sona support or Shyv jungle recently. Have managed to get some fairly strong ganks in with Shyv. I'd love to carry but in Bronze III I keep getting shit supports who over commit and die or dont ward. I eventually said fuck it and just support myself.

Did get to jungle as Amumu the other day since nobody banned him, was able to land a nice ult on Baron and give our MF a quick quadra.

I'm just ready to get out of this division and up into silver, I just cant seem to catch a break.

Morde es #1 huehuehue

Dropped down to Silver IV due to trolls last night. Said fuck it and just picked Morde a couple times. Went 5-0 first match vs AP EZ. Then 13-3 vs Cass (OMG MY COUNTER!). Back up to Silver III.

Love that fact that you can Deathfire, Combo, Ult, Ignite and basically kill any champ in one fellow swoop. Beefy champs like a fed singed or nasus are even yummier.

I think I suck ass at Jungling. I have champs I feel very comfortable with, but it seems like everytime I jungle, all lanes lose hard. Then everyone asks for a gank, then I get blamed for the loss. I'm not sure what to do......

I'm very map aware, pinging where their jungle is, seeing who needs helps, but if every lane gets shit on there's only so much I can do. I don't know how to carry from the jungle, I can help if people are somewhat competent, but I'm not sure what to do when everyone is failing.

Problems i have while jungling are when all of our lanes are being pushed and need ganks. Spend too much time ganking(and failing because the person in that lane is an idiot) and get behind in levels. Then I get blamed for it all lol

I've started to gank from behind enemy mid tower (top/bot lanes), so all my lane has to do is push them to fall back behind tower. I risk getting creep raped/turret damage but easier ganks. No real other way to gank mid than through river and its usually warded.

I'm pretty awful at it too, which sucks because I have two great Amumu skins (Pharaoh and Sad Robot). It's easily my worst role, but it seems to have gotten a little easier with Season 3 and the Machete/Spirit items in spite of the increased stats and health of neutral monsters. Is there some sort of jungle primer online that one could read or watch to learn the role better, and what are good starter junglers?

Jungling is the worst role in the world when all 3 lanes are pushed. Easily the most frustrating thing EVER.

I hate when one lane will bitch in all chat that you don't gank for them because they have no map awareness to see that another lane is absolutely destroyed and the team would be worse off if you weren't helping them the whole time.

Exactly, I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this lol. It just leads me to never want to jungle. If I'm laning I can control my lane pretty well and usually win it, but if I jungle I feel totally helpless.
