Garen rapes the fuck out of GP.

How so specifically? The same way he rapes everyone or is there something specific about Garen you think beats GP because I can't think of anything special. Garen doesn't really counter or is countered. If he is played well, he is annoying as fuck to everyone, but that is the champs nature.

I think the key there is garen can actually spin gp whereas other champs he can't close the gap? Wukong can juke, elise can stun, rene can slice or stun, teemo and kennen can outrun him. Garen can cancel the slow from GP's shot and i'm pretty sure he moves faster than GP too. Either way, if I'm correct, thats higher sustain with the ability to actually hurt GP.

How do you beat Yorick in lane?

Play Nasus and Q ghosts. Play *anyone* and get aggressive at level 1 with a jungle gank at 2. Doran's blade and just heal up on his ghosts at level 1-2. Get to lane first and zone him. Dedicated Yoricks are pretty uncommon in my experience in Bronze/Silver, and they know how to adjust to that stuff, but Yoricks who picked it to counter someone will tend to lose hard to players who aren't intimidated by him. Hell, even as Teemo I've only lost lane to one Yorick in the last ten I've faced, and he had more than 600 ranked games as Yorick, and even there it came down to his jungler providing more (read: any) help.

Also: Soraka top trolls Yorick hard. It's hilarious to watch.

If GP is going to keep up in farm he's going to have to melee. when he gets in range Garen can close the gap fast. Most GPs don't start off with armor early so Garen just spins in his face. I don't think I've ever lost to a GP as Garen. They just don't expect it I guess.

only item that even remotely helps GP is static shiv and it's not that great to have something always pushing in all scenarios, that's why people don't always build it.

he has no defensive traits and his offensive ones are severely lacking due to the fact that you can't be a melee and be squishy (the only way GP works.) you can build him like a bruiser, sure. but he gets out shone by almost every other bruiser due to his kit and lack of defensive abilities. sadly AP GP is the only viable GP build and you just get trolled if you build it by your teammates so it's not worth doing

edit: maybe you mean towards the end of s2, but GP was a great champ before they nerfed his passive into the ground during the early/mid parts of s2. and in s1 his creep deny made him a pretty unique hero too, i would say s3 has been his weakest season so far

GP can work in the midlane pretty well still. The problem is if you don't have an AP top(which are becoming less popular nowadays) or your team doesn't snowball rather well the enemy team can start countering your double AD. Nien played GP Mid 1 game against Dig back in oRB and did fairly well with it, and GP's kit allows him to roam around fairly easily thanks to innate movement speed steroids + slow from his passive for ganking. Muramana and/or Frozen Fist are beast on him and his orange gives him some safety from ganks involving snares.

GP builds with shiv, trinity and then tankiness (or life steal or both) has great burst, some control, good sustain and good team fight bonuses. You said he sucks. If you want to say that he isn't the best pick, sure I will agree, but he isn't shit tier anymore.

gp is in the bottom 25% of heros, he's not the worst but by anyone who plays ranked at a high levels standards he is pretty terrible.

finally got my 100 games in silver trophy, so undeserved.

just had a game where I was first pick, which is automatically a bad sign. Load in, lux and khaz both go to their turrets and dc. Khaz comes back once, leaves again, lux eventually comes back for the rest of the 3v5 but obviously can't do anything. Then I lose 8 LP, which I have only been gaining 4 for wins :\ Do "Loss Forgiven" not exist anymore?

I had a game where the Pacific Northwest servers all went down. I DC'ed during champ select, and couldn't get in at all-- servers just wouldn't accept me. Team won, but I got leaver penalty which cost me my first try at bronze--> silver series. Loss prevention *DOES* happen (I had it in the last week), but it evidently has to be something wretchedly extreme before they will.

I took a bit of the advice here after the last time I posted, and bought up a bunch of 450IP champions just to have them. Kayle seems like the most legit out of the bunch, though that really is neither here nor there.

My main problem at this point is either that I'm playing the game wrong, or everyone else in normal Q is playing the game wrong. While I certainly don't claim to be an expert, or even proficient in this game, it seems to me that it's a game about objectives and the occasional fight over said objectives. It seems that 90% of the people I run into think it's a deathmatch game, and will give up free turrets/dragon in favor of chasing a support two towers deep just to get blown up because they're now in no-man's land. Am I seeing this game incorrectly? If not, is this a problem that gets remedied somewhat once you get to level30 and can do ranked matches?

Objectives > Kills. You are correct. This game is about taking out the nexus. Not about getting 20-0. I have actually lost a game where I went 24-3 on Akali and still lost lol.

Yeah its painful when you kill 2 people are in a 5-3, and then 3 of your team dive through 2 turrets and die instead of just pushing those 2 turrets down to gain major advantage.
Happens more at scrub level.

I've lost my last 4 games. In 2 of them I had the same ADC who played Twitch and overpushed our lane again and again. He and I both got ganked 4 times before laning phase ended. He and his duo queue buddy (obviously) blamed me for everything.

2/3 things will happen every game:

1) it's a deathmatch
2) objectives get played and game is fun as hell
3) the blame game.

1 & 2 rarely happen.
