How is it not your fault? Even if you arent actively making them lose the game, what are you doing to make them win the game? Could you have played better? Gotten more cs? Made a better play? If yes to any of those how can you shift blame to the rest of your team?

While I agree with what you're saying, there are some games you literally cannot win.

Just got into ranked recently and placed in Silver V (Promoted to Silver IV yesterday), so far I'm liking the cooperative aspect(for the most part) of ranked, over norms :D

Okay this is perfect because hearing what I could have done differently may be very useful. So lets use my last Elise game as an example:

I picked Elise to fight nidalee. Another picked Thresh for bottom lane AD. Another member got mad and picked Ezreal, so I told the Ezreal to go mid and I would play support Elise. In this game we proceed to shut down bottom lane Caitlyn and AP Sion to the point that they couldnt lane against us any more. Thresh and I could kill either Caitlyn or Sion if either of us land a skillshot on them. Meanwhile in toplane, Garen was losing HARD to nidalee. And by hard I mean Nidalee had Iceborn finished while Garen only had Swift boots and an emblem of valor. Nidalee ended that game 10/2/x compared to our Garen 3/8/0 (thats 0 as in he was involved in no fights besides his own kills). How did mid Ezreal fair? I believe he did get the first tower against syndra, and he ended 2/3/10, so nothing terrible here. Our jungle jax started off great with first blood, but the enemy Nautilus just did more work than him despite Jax being 9/7/2.

So at some point, when top was gone and Garen was already down by 5 deaths and Nidalee began roaming, AP Sion and Caitlyn split to go farm. Sion actually had the most gold at the end of the game and they were winning 5v4 team fights while cait farmed.

I suppose I could have switched with Garen when he said he was having trouble (garen was convinced nidalee would be support, despite me telling him she isn't). I say the game isn't my fault because I guess I am still in the mindset of "winning your lane = doing your job." Teamfights just could not be won and I'm not sure what I could have done to change that.

Couple things I notice off the bat. You say you supported yet have 62 minions. This means you either were taking cs in lane, or were not backing with your AD and taking farm while he was back. Or you were also solo farming a lane after lane phase was over. All of these scenarios are bad.

You also have 6 inventory slots on a support. Meaning you can not get pink wards or extra wards over your 3 from sightstone. Late game 3 wards doesnt cut it when you have lost 4 or more turrets. Not to mention you are not denying vision on the other team. You dont need a dorans ring as much as you need wards. Lets say you are able to get a single pick due to 1 extra ward. At level 18 thats nearly a guaranteed Baron or inhibitor due to respawn timers.

You opted for damage build on Elise when your team could have really used a bulwark, there are 2 high damage APs on that team with 2 minor APs. Bulwark would have helped a TON. Also Shurelyas could have potentially gotten a really good engage on their team or disengaged your own team from a bad fight.

You said you were winning your bot lane really well. You could have pinked dragon and done it. You could have roamed mid and warded for ezreal and potentially killed Syndra. You could have warded their blue and killed Naut/Syndra/simply stole it. Being support doesnt mean support your AD, you should try to support your whole team.

I'll try this differently next time. I rarely back with my AD if the lane isn't pushed or im not low health. I always felt that I could clear the current wave, then b afterward. Also I am really bad about clearing waves after lane phase is over because noone else on my team seems to do so. Let's say everyone is dancing around mid after a team fight, there won't be another team fight, yet bot or top is pushed to our inner turret. Neither adc reacts quickly enough to clear out the minions so I'll do it.

Unless the lane is pushed to your tower, or immediately next to their tower with no one there, don't push it, the closer it is to your tower, without being at your tower, the better, generally. Unless it's at their tower denying them farm/exp.

Don't keep a Doran's Ring if you have no inventory slots on a support, not sure what the belt was turning into, but after boots/guise you had more than enough to do more damage than the average support. Not that you should exactly be building these things, no matter how ahead your specific lane is, support Elise of course. Focus on everyone's lane, not yours. They had AP Sion bot, if you walk up and get stunned you won that lane anyway.

Reverie/Zeke's if ADC is fed enough/WotA if applicable/Locket.

Warn him that you're leaving, tell him to be safe. You should be warding River/Tri/Dragon/Their Blue if applicable side/Jungle Entrances in that order, more or less. If they were all doing dragon, use that chance to push mid tower or top tower.

Hammer Auto before E. Try and get in front of them before E to knock them back. W in cannon and switching to hammer gives you 3 super fast hammer autos. Try and Cannon auto before the combo if you just swapped, for the armor and MR reduction.

Since he's one of this week's free champions, I've been dicking around with Thresh. Dude is mad fun. I'm not looking forward to saving up all those IP, but I don't want to go back to a world where I don't have access to that guy.
