Right, I mean the whole idea is that the whole ability is blocked. It doesn't say "Blocks the first part of a potentially multi-faceted ability." It says "blocks ability or spell." The entire thing. Blocked. Block it all.

Once the discussion broke down into why it was different is when I had a problem with it. I can see why self-pulls would be bad to block as it would basically fuck over quite a few champs beyond just Leona. Jax comes to mind. If you want to make a claim about the root its fine, but a champ that is based on moving to a champ and they can't, just devastates everything else they can do.

To me consistency is knowing the effects will be the same from game to game. Consistency is not based around what you perceive to be similar abilities behaving in a similar way.

And I agree in a lot of ways. But Sivir is not overpowered...far from it. It wouldn't kill Riot to allow her a spell that prevents an engage. Much like Leona, Blitz has his pull to get shit started, and that's able to be blocked (Morg, Ahri, Naut, etc etc as well). It doesn't nullify blitz or those other champs, it just makes it harder for them in lane, which is the whole idea behind a counter mechanic. Right now Leona/Mumu can just have their way with her regardless of her "counter" shield.

Anyways, I know I'm just bitching. I also saw a post where someone goes over every mechanic and whether or not spellshield blocks it, and it's not consistent at all. I'd be fine if they just changed the spell summary to read "Might block an ability or spell...or might not....idk give it a shot?" At least then it'd be accurate.

the spell shield just acts as a decoy character that eats 1 spell effect, so in leona's case, it eats the root but she still gets pulled to the decoy character (spell shield), which happens to be exactly where you are

her face in the art looks like a creepy, wide-eyed, doll-faced, female Joker. her model's face has chola eyebrows, a tan, is far narrower, the eyes aren't pink, and overall just looks like katarina with blue hair. I can understand losing some of the bangs to LOD, but it doesn't even look like the same person.
