Quarter and semifinals need to be best of 5 and the finals needs to be best of 7. I think that is the most fair to the competitors. Stretch it out for a couple of more days if there are any concerns about fatigue.

Official forums have been a comedy goldmine since Worlds ended. Some highlights:

    - Champions that were played by the winning team of a game should be auto-banned for the rest of the match. For example, Jax/J4/Ahri/Ez/Zyra win game one. Those five champions are not available for the next 4 games in a bo5.

    - Semis and finals should be run on the same day.

    - If a bo5 series ends 3-2, it should keep going until a team wins by a two game margin, like in tennis.

    - Teams that get a bye should still have to play some games before the quarters... they don't count for anything, they just have to play... inexplicably.

The last one partially makes sense, as discussed several pages ago.

I think showmatches would be fun but kinda silly tbh.

Actually, it would've been kinda cool to have the seeded teams do showmatches against each other. Not sure when they would've squeezed that in though considering they had world's at 3 different venues and had to move all the gear.

They could have used the Riot studio for that and just streamed the games at the first venue.

Personally, I wouldn't have tuned in for glorified scrims. The whole reason that topic even came up was because C9 got bopped in the quarters, and people in NA were bummed. If C9 had made it through to the semis, no one would have been carrying on about the plight of the poor Gama Bears, flying all the way to America just to get demolished in two games.

I wasn't trying to suggest showmatches, just longer series.

Yeah, I know. That wasn't really directed at you, or really anyone here. It was more a further critique of the OF/Reddit ideas that teams with byes should have to play show matches.

Personally I think C9 did fucking amazing for what was their first season. They were so unseasoned there was no way they could prepare for the European and Korean meta, especially considering there were precisely zero teams that gave them a run in the NA game.

Looking for them to come back strong in s4. Same with the team tht will inevitably finish in 4th, Curse.

The more I think about it, the more I think the best solution would've been to have the quarterfinals be a round robin group stage.

Edit: Oh snap just read this. Only Voyboy will be staying on the main Curse line-up.

    New Curse line up
    Top Voyboy
    Mid Pobelter
    Jungle IWillDominate
    Adc Aphromoo
    Support Zekent

    TEAM LOLPRO
    TrickZ jungle
    Cruzer the Bruzer Top
    Cop AD
    Nyjacky AP
    support tba

As a long time fan of the team that became Vulcun, I'm really glad to have Aphro back in the competitive scene and back on AD. There was a time where I would've called him #2 AD in NA behind Doublelift.

Overall, I think this new line-up has a good chance of working out. The biggest problem Curse had was that no one on the team could consistently carry, and I think Aphro and Pobelter can solve that for them.

I am unsure what to think. Aphromoo is awesome, I love his personality, and his aggressive play, but with the rise of "mechanically" superior players (not just Doublelift, but Nien and Zuna also come to mind) that are just as aggressive, I don't know how he is going to play out. When he focuses he is awesome, but it seems like it's hard for him to do sometimes. Pobelter is a great mid, serviceable in the LCS, but there are some others that are just as good. Dominate is an excellent jungler, but I have read in a couple of places that he is a douche to work with (has a yolo queue mentality). Isn't Zekent mostly a mid that picks weird supports?

I don't know. These are some good individual players, Dominate has shown that he worked well in Curse Academy. I just don't know if they are ready for the transition to a game that is now dominated by superior team play. C9 crushes the NA with team play, then loses to Fnatic because of their superior team play. It's going to take a lot of work. Last I read they are doing the Challenger circuit to requalify. I don't know how that will work with the fact that the Curse team should have a slot in the relegation matches. Is there a certain number of players that has to be retained to maintain their "team" status?

A quick question. Is the new Coke Zero Challenger Series the same as the Challenger Series to qualify for the relegation matches? I am just so happy about the amount of league I am going to be able to watch in the next year.

I believe they said (though I can't find a source right now, so probably better than 50% chance I dreamed this up) that the CZ Challenger series would be running alongside the LCS in season 4. That gave me the impression that the run up to relegation is going to be run the way it has before, and then the big change for Challenger series will start up at the beginning of season 4. On a side note, if you're itching for League, WCG is going on this week and OGN Winter starts shortly after.

Not paying for league coverage in better than N64 quality. Also, USA! USA! USA!

    That Jinx video is awesome.

I'd be surprised if either Curse team did anything special. They will have a really long ramp-up time for the teamplay aspects that ringthree mentioned. I also think Aphroo is a solo queue hero. Jackie isn't good enough to carry. IWD isn't that good. Pobelter is the only high quality player besides Voy.

I disagree, aphro is a hell of a carry.

Zetanio didn't say he wasn't. He is a great player, but I have to question his team work. Voyboy has been streaming the new Curse team in ranked 5's and while I am sure they will crush there, I have yet to see any kind of teamwork that makes me think they are ready for LCS competition. If you can catch Meteos in solo queue you can almost see what he is thinking. It's a different level.

Zekent plays Poppy and AP Janna in Yolo queue. Again, more evidence that this team is going to take time to coalesce. Really good to great individual players, only Voyboy has really dealt with the serious business that high level League play is about.
