when it comes to jungling it all relies on your comp and your communication though, its pretty hilarious when im with my tryhards and they let me jungle with renekton.

I cannot figure out how to play Irelia for the life of me. Played about 10 matches since I bought her and all of them have either been colossal failures or barely pulling out even on the KDR. Anyone have any tips?
Build her Tanky. Run Ignite always. Grab Solo Top. Uhh...
It would be easier to assess the situation if you were more specific with your problems, Team fights? Survivability? Damage output? Lane control? Item build? etc.
speaking of colossal failures, i start my first game of the day today with qeo and vertego and 2 mins into it the fucking police come to my door and wanna play 20 questions. fuck the police man
I would say damage output is my big problem, I just don't do damage. Even with Wriggles/Tforce in a timely manner I'll run at a squishy carry and...not kill them. Survivability is pretty hard too, I always die trying to get to the squishes in the back. Team fights are ok, but I still feel less useful than if I was on another character.
Hmm.. You should be building purely tanky items aside from your Wriggles/Triforce, so I'm assuming you got that much down. The thing about Irelia is she isn't like a bursty-assassin like Akali or Kassadin. She's half Assassin and half Bruiser, You won't take out your target ultra quickly but you do a moderate amount of burst. I'd say her strong point is the ability to commit in team fights, a good Irelia can stay alive for a long time.
It might be your skill order as well. It should be Equilibrium > Hiten > Bladesurge. One of her biggest strong-points is her mid-game. Your Bladesurge into Equilibrium + Sheen combo should be doing 500-600? That's easily 1/3rd of a Carry's HP. You can start dishing out some heavy auto-attacks (150ish with Hiten activated) and there you go.
Never initiate. Play the assassin and creep around and look for your entry and when it arrives, bam. You jump onto a carry or support and never let go. He won't be able to escape from your Trinity/Equilibrium combo and if they decide to try and burst you down which is kind of risky considering you'll be packing some nice defensive stats from your Banshees/Randuins, and remember that you can ult behind you while you chase, always aim for the biggest cluster of targets if you're craving the HP restoration.
Finally, watch some streams of high-elo Irelias. That's 100% the best way to learn her. Playing her is a great deal also, but watch a few matches to see what the best builds are, how they fight, escape, farm, etc.
Edit: I found a game for you. Wickd is one of the top EU Players (He plays for SK Gaming which is the 3rd best EU Team) and Irelia is one of his mains.

The guy has a bunch more of his matches. Just search Irelia and you'll find 11-12 games.
I guess I'm just playing her wrong, I've never played a squishy tank assassin bruiser before....Been playing her all day and I just am not enjoying it at all, maybe this was a huge waste of IP and RP.
I came to LoL as a HoN player and unfortunately, there aren't any champions like those heroes. If you know how to handle yourself with Arachna you might like Ashe. She's basically Arachna with Miranda/Valkyrie's arrow stun as an ult with global range and more farming utility.
I'd compare Amumu more to Devo/Pudge than anything minus the nomnom ult. As a side note I play a sick Electrician, but unfortunately he's very easily countered.Originally Posted by Rivero

Been trying many different builds the past month and came to liking this one:

Of course, this one has a bit less tanky to it so I tend to get some tanky gear after Tri or Stark. Games tend to end before IE is even started. Find what suits you and your team/opponents. My runes are a bit different from this one but he does mention alternatives as well.
As mentioned above, watching matches like those on own3d.tv is a good way to see how ranked people play characters provided they aren't doing something out of the norm (AD carry Soraka etc).
Edit: Liking the Galio buffs in next patch but not Caitlin (can't stand her as much as I can't stand Ashe)
Finally played against a jungle akali today. We intitiated a team fight at level 1 and rocked her, and proceeded to gank her hard the rest of the game. She finished with something like 1/18.
That being said, I am curious to try it sometime as akali is my main (and has been since she was released). What runes/masteries/builds/spells do you run to do it? Note: She stuck with the normal build, and ran with smite/fortify (which is why she got ganked so hard).
As the week draws to an end I thought I'd try other champions I haven't played yet. Last one on my list was Lux. I've only really had some really bad experiences with Luxes on my team, so I put her off till last assuming I'd hate it. Well this is the result:

You might be asking yourself, well he did pretty well. How did he lose that game? Well I'll answer that for you...

Simple answer, Shen. Dude was 0-7-1 in the first 12 minutes. Love it when shit like this happens.
I'm assuming something like 1/16/13? Armor Yellows/AP Blues/AD Reds/AP Quints. You probably want to activate your passive via Masteries/Runes so you can grab a Cloth Armor/5x HP
Times like this I wish the game had a fucking replay system. I'd really love to watch a game of you playing her and I could easily find out what your issues are. I don't think you should give up on Irelia, she's pretty broken if played right. I've had a few games won due to an Irelia just raping the hell out of top and then proceeding to rape the hell out of the entire team.
But I digress, I have a few heroes I also can't do well with but consider stupidly easy. (Xin Zhao comes to mind)
irelia is the most infuriating champion in the game to go against because she completely overpowered
Yeah. Except if you're Nidalee. lulz I stomp Irelia's so hard.

"LOL Recorder" works for replays
Hmm. I don't know. Depends how good the guy playing Irelia is. Most Irelia's run Cloth/5HP and I have no problems zoning them and killing them at level 6. Maybe not a complete zone but you can easily poke them and punish them for trying to last-hit and then once they are half hp, turn into a kitty and beat them down.
That's one of the few things I wish they'd carry over from HoN are the replays. HoN has a really good Replay system set up and they are saved with very little space taken, average like 9 MB because it uses the games resources for the replays. This also means you can only watch them in the game but there are skip, slowmo, pause, etc.
