Tbh, evasion is only good for Jax, Udry, Sivir. It's even worse if you don't use Nimbleness as well.

Evasion is great. It's effective on any Tanky DPS/Tank or general utility character (Jax/Sivir/Udyr). Sure it's RNG but you can stack it up with Nimbleness which is only 9 points anyway and make it into an amazing escape or chase tool.

The only time you shouldn't be running Dodge is when you need the Armor for jungling or you want more Health/Mp5 to increase your survivability as a SUPPORT/RANGED. (Meaning not getting smacked by constant shit all the time.)

tl;dr: Dodge is great, has insane value (you cannot put a price on dodge) and is a must buy if you can afford to spend the fuckton of IP it costs.

I LOVE them on singed. So many times in laning phase people chase me since I'm so low and get worked down by poison/teammate while I get away with nimbleness because of minions. Not to mention, at all parts of the game, +~9% eva is pretty much -9% damage taken from auto attacks. Gotta love it.

AND! if someone has you targetted, then untargets you because you get away, you essentially took them out of battle for the duration of their attack on you. I guess that only pertains to singed since he don't have to be engaged where as other champs do.

But fuck they are expensive. Just got my 9 today.

It was great for Tanky DPS back when Phantom Dancer gave evasion bonus as well. I'm not saying evasion is bad, it's just situational at best.

But yea, it's a must for Singed.

I only recently got 20 so I've only got 3 dodge runes, but I love them so much on Jax.

You all are making me reconsider getting CDR runes first and go for Dodge instead (though I'd have more use for CDR on the champs I have right now)

You should farm blue CDR runes first. They are usable for all champs.

I disagree. CDR isn't really needed on most heroes, and Flat MR is a much safer and cheaper choice. CDR can also be picked up through numerous items, including the new boots which are 15% + talents and blue elixirs should be more than enough. Dodge on the other hand isn't obtainable with the exception of Ninja Tabi which you should never be using unless you are either 1) Jax or 2) Their entire team revolves around auto-attacking which is very unlikely to begin with.

To be honest. Dodge/CDR should be at the end of your list, Meian. Grab the other essentials before you start on the expensive ones.

Quints: Flat HP/Armor Pen/Flat AP
Red: Armor Pen/Magic Pen
Yellow: Armor/Mp5/ Health per Level
Blue: Flat MR and if you play a lot of casters then AP per Level.

After that Dodge/CDR would be your next purchases and any other runes are just niche purchases.

The reason I can't stress holding out on Dodge/CDR are the insane prices.

For the cost of 9 Dodge Runes (7200) you could easily grab for example a full set of Armor/Mp5 and Flat AP quints at roughly the same price. The runes are great but I feel if you're starting out they don't really benefit as much as they would later on.

How come you don't use Doran's blade instead? 100 More HP and 1 less Attack damage just seems so much more worth it. Especially when you consider Akali doesn't really benefit from a long sword.

Either is fine, depending on what you want to build into. Sword of the Occult is fun, but something I usually only use in AI games, makes you too big of a target in PvP games, and the 100 health really helps early game against non bots. Sucks that the Doran's items don't build into anything.

Aye. But they'll give you more survivability at the very least. If you're going Occult though then more power to you; People who buy snowball items usually either do really good or really bad. /shrug

I'm using MR Yellows on Akali, don't take nimbleness with her and would rather have the MR for AoE shit.

I didn't even know they had MR yellows, rofl. Nimbleless is great since you're going 9/21/0 usually on Akali, why not make it even better with Dodge Runes? Akali is a giant PITA as she is, moving 10% faster just makes her even more deadly. Especially for those moments where you need to catch up to someone for ult range and a few creeps hitting you could give you that nice speed boost.

Currently I have:
Red: Mag Pent and most of Armor Pent
Yellow: MP5 and Health per level
Blue: None!
Quint: Flat HP


For the AP chars I use the CDR would be more useful than the AP per level (that I noticed and read anyway). I know I can get items like Ionian Boots/Morello/Elixer and Masteries but this can free up one of those items/masteries to place elsewhere such as the way I build AP TF to not need Ionian with runes (Poppy and others too).

Back to 3 IP now haha...

Theres also the notion that getting the expensive ones out of the way makes me feel better as well. Just Dodge to go then things will be a little simpler such as MR runes etc.
