Probably Alistar. Shen is a bitch to play if you lack the ability to constantly look at the other parts of the map for your ultimate. I'd say both take some skill to play adequately but Alistar is far easier IMO.
Shen was my first tank but before him my first character was Soraka. Since Wish required map viewing constantly similar to Shen's ult, it made it much easier for me to start playing him and practice that map awareness.
Tried Fiddlesticks after patch, Drain tanking isn't as viable now on the lane (was level 3 Drain when I tested it) but that was intended of course. Dark Wind is pretty nice to poke with. Jungling feels harder now than before but still doable. Wraith messed me up a bit but I'll have to keep practicing. Starting to wonder if Spirit Visage would be worth it now before Abyssal and after RoA since the AP change on Drain is barely a significant buff.
His Ult is pretty................. meh... now... was silly to nerf that.
What I find funny is they buffed the drain not too long ago.
So I hit level 10 and the Beginner vs AI battles give very little exp and the Intermediates completely rape me. I went from going 9/0/something to 0/8... I didn't really do anything different. Maybe I just suck.
Anyway, what exactly is the point of jungling? A Yi was jungling in that game and really didnt seem to do anything else. Sure we got some gold here and there, but wouldn't him helping to cover a champ have been more useful?
Jungling, while allowing for XP and gold for a single player, gives another lane all the Xp and gold farming for being solo, getting red/blue buffs while moving around to gank enemies in other lanes in a less predictable pattern than leaving a lane to do so.
A good jungler is supposed to free up a lane for someone to get extra xp and also initiate ganks across the map. The yi probably wasn't doing the ganking very well.
No they weren't ganking at all. I was mid and was overrun by 3+ bots several times without warning.
A single Hextech Revolver?
My first quadra
lol mega cleanup after renek and shen died
Spoiler: show
Yeah. Will of the Ancients isn't bad either. I played Fiddlesticks before this nerf (yes, it's a nerf, 10 bounce crows were so good and could shut down an entire team) and Spellvamp was pretty ridiculous on him. I would ulti in the middle of the team fight and my survivability would exceed Swain's ult. One hextech will allow you to reach the previous 100% drain rate while improving your chances of surviving a team fight after ulting right into the middle of the fray.
Just bought twitch, played 3 games with him last night. Absolutely love him.. I think I may have found my new main <3
Started playing Janna, really fun when you're playing with people who know what they're doing. Not so fun when you random to a fail team and you're basically useless. Can anyone recommend me some other champions to try? I mainly just switch between Janna, Kennen, and Poppy.
Thing you have to remember with going against AI in intermediate is that they are aggressive as hell, especially in the beginning. I don't find it good practice at all really compared to actual practice against real people. They will always chase you a good amount if you have low HP, they will always have some one coming after you if you are backdooring, you can abuse the shit out of that in a vs. AI game.
If you can survive their initial onslaught you are pretty much good vs. AI.
Carrying with a tank is 400x easier than carrying with a "carry". Being in charge of CC, being the most crucial role, and being the initiator means you decide the games outcome more than anything else. Actually I'd say one of the hardest things to carry on is a carry because of the fact that you need team support (Stuns on the assassins, buffs from the supports) to be able to do anything.
Ok so as a Kennen who usually plays mid, should I be maxing out shuriken or surge first? When I play Kennen I always max out Surge > Rush > Shuriken. Going Surge/Rush, at level 12 I am able to combo the mage minions, and at 13 the melee ones. This allows me to farm a lot earlier than a shuriken 1st Kennen; but I feel my harass is limited to surge only until Im able to commit enough for the kill using my EWQ combo. I see a lot of Kens max out Shuriken for the sole purpose to harass their opponents a little better.
I like the fact that surge can never miss even though it doesn't hit as hard as shuriken. The largest down fall Ive noticed with surge is that it is weaker and that I have to be closer to the minion waves in order to land a mark + surge.
Anyways any thoughts on how to order his skills?
Shuriken > Surge > Rush > Surge > Surge > Storm > Surge > Rush > Surge > Rush > Storm > etc.
This order is optimal because you can tag the enemy with a Shuriken then follow up with Surge. The passive is a great combo finisher/opener too. The problem with going Shuriken first is you're likely to run into energy issues because of its low CD. Energy champions are all about rhythm and pacing yourself due to the limits of regeneration. Rush is definitely required as his secondary to improve his survivability.
In other words, your way of playing Kennen is fine.
