yep, I always take shuriken first then surge whenever available and the first rush. So, Ult>Surge>Shuriken>Rush. Mpen marks, ap seals, ap glyphs, mpen quints personally.
I've always maxed out surge first. Shuriken isn't hard to hit at all, and if you hit it, just get close to the champ or whatever and surge them. Kennen uses energy, and its a million times easier to farm with surge, as well as harass.
Yup, Surge first. May not do as much damage as the Shuriken (I never pay it much mind), but hitting multiple targets makes up for any lesser damage. Just a quick note on his Ulti: in a 1 on 1 fight, it is not an opener. Take them down some, stun, put a mark, THEN Ulti to keep them from running.
Also, Zhonya's Hourglass. I cannot stress that enough. Your Ulti keeps going while you're invincible with it, so abuse that fact. Rush into the middle of a team fight (hopefully second and not first), pop Ulti, Hourglass as soon as you start to take damage, W all the marks when you come out of it. And then Rush back out, hitting someone with another mark on the way out and poke from the sidelines.
Oops
I think what he means is that you will do more for your team, as a competent player, playing the tank instead of the carry. The tanks decide the outcome of the game, imo. The "carry," albeit true that they "carried" the team to victory because they killed the most people, really did nothing more than buy the right items, lane effectively, and right clicked when the tank initiated. And yeah, you can pick that line apart and make jokes, but the amount of attention I need to pay when playing singed/shen/amumu is night and day compared to playing a kog/malz/mf.
Just played a game against one guy who had 1500+ wins, name was LordSlash. Just looked him up and he seems to be pretty legit. Talks wayyyyy too much shit though and his butt buddy ArticSol, Ezreal.
He stacked 3 Doran's Blades and Vamp Scepter early game. Ez did a lot of lifesteal too
You didnt say who he was playing![]()
Oh sorry, he was Jax and in mid. At first we were like wtf...but he owned LeBlanc in like 2:00 and had mid tower down soon after that.
Only thing that I thought was funny him and his friend talked sooooo much shit. I assume after winning 1500+ games you would know every thing there is to know about the game.
Giving tanky DPS the ability to do damage while building defense is the silliest thing riot ever came up with. I just played a game where 3 people went Warmogs first followed by Thornmail. As a caitlyn I could do absolutely nothing against them, if I got a madreds and attack speed to fight the massive HP, I would die from Thornmail. Every team fight the other team just ignored me and let me shoot myself down to 20% really fast. It's silly that a Renekton, Xin, Nocturne, or even a Morde can buy almost no damage items and still do top notch damage.
Your team is failing if you're losing to first itemed warmogs players. They're not getting ganked and/or you're not backing to take advantage of early game item advantages.
An unkillable-built (read: defensive stats + fon) Morde is much, much scarier than an AP one. It comes at the cost of having a competent team to not feed the enemy, though, otherwise you're laughed at just as much as you are at them.
That is exactly what I thought, and we had two players that where fed pretty early. Then both players where rendered moot by the Warmogs+Thornmail combo and the non-item needed DPS that comes out of characters like Renekton and Morde.Your team is failing if you're losing to first itemed warmogs players. They're not getting ganked and/or you're not backing to take advantage of early game item advantages.
Isn't everything contingent on your team not feeding? lol
Now let's clear something up- Mordekaiser is not a tank. A tank must be able to 1) protect carries and 2) take a lot of damage. Mordekaiser can only take a lot of damage. He can accomplish 2 by going AP because he has a natural armor boosting ability, life leeching ult and enough effective HP from his shield mechanic to make him 'tanky' without requiring the defensive stats. Mordekaiser is a rape-enemy-face-by-turning-every-teamfight-into-a-6v4 champion. This is best accomplished by going AP. If you want to tank, play something else because Mordekaiser is in no way whatsoever a tank. There is nothing more satisfying than taking an enemy champion from 100% to 0% with Mordekaiser's full combo.
What's scarrier? A Mordekaiser that runs around doing shit damage, no CC and relies on his team to get his ghost for him or a full AP beast that makes anyone he pleases his literal bitch for 30 seconds.
I'll take AP Mord over do-nothing-but-take-hits Mord any day.
About the only counter I know of for a tank stacking armor and Thornmail is Lifesteal and Madred's. Bloodrazer and at least one or two Bloodthirsters. Just need to try and out-heal the damage Thornmail is doing.
A bit too much outcry in these "terms" and how they're used. A tank is the person who can sustain the most damage. That has always been my definition regardless if it is Shen or Mordekaiser or even Master Yi (AP).
Mordekaiser has always been scarier to me as a tank build. Yes, he has no real CC but he can still do great damage and be the front line when it comes to team fights causing the enemy to focus him and eventually have them pay for that mistake. AP build feels less threatening and he pops way too fast. Use to see a lot of Mordekaiser go AP and I would just sigh if they were on my team because they end up being more useless than the tank build. Glad I am seeing more tank variants of him now even though it's a bigger pain to face against.
Also, free Katarina week shouldn't ever happen. Can not go a game without someone being Katarina and 4 out of 5 times end up being really bad thinking they can pubstomp easily all the time. Why they have not reworked her ult to be useful with CC enemy team and not be a pubstomper is beyond me. And don't get me started on Evelynn XD
Lets just keep it simple
Mordekaiser Attributes: Fighter, Melee, Pusher
even Riot knows Mord isn't a tank. People need to stop thinking he's a 'tank' because unless you're protecting your carries from being eaten, you're just a guy who has a lot of armor/resist/hp. If you're picking a character with no CC as a tank just because he can take a lot of damage then you're doing it wrong. Don't confuse 'tanky' with tank. Also, "causing the enemy to focus him and eventually have them pay for that mistake" really? How exactly does he 'cause' the enemy team to focus him? The only idiots focusing him are probably the same morons who will 'focus' Mundo while his ultimate is still up without ignite.
By your definition Soraka or Taric are the best tanks- but we all know they're support and them being tanks simply isn't true.
