    No, he is. They just made such a terrible movie that it's kind of ambiguous. He's definitely supposed to be crazy, though.

    Eh, I really felt like that line was used because it's the message they wanted to kinda get across, less than because it was relevant to his character

    The case in point that he's definitely crazy is he doesn't remember that the other guy is not his partner, he talks to him the exact same way he did before and I think even used the fake name.


    Didn't like the movie much at all, too many scenes with accidental ambiguity and a twist I guessed in the first 10min but really, really wanted to be wrong about. Oh well, to each their own.

    He's cured, but he can't take living with what he did and what his wife did, so he would rather die thinking he was still a good marshal. He tells his primary, who understands what he says but doesn't move to stop him.


    Good ending though.
