What I don't understand is why the whole PS1 line up hasn't been released on PSN or at least the greatest hits line up. It's mind boggling, do these companies not like basically free money?

That'd be a huge release for "PSP" actually. IX portable for 10 bucks? hell yeah!

This a million times, was always too lazy to homebrew or whatever my PSP, so not being able to play it on the go was a huge downer for me...

Now they just need to release Legend of Dragoon and my life will be complete (till we can play old games in our minds, in which case I will never move again)

Wasn't there a lot of complaints about getting Excalibur being impossible without cheating in the EU version? If I remember correctly, because it ran at a slower speed, it made it impossible to reach a certain point in the game under a certain time to be able to earn Excalibur. People had to use Action Replay's to freeze the in-game clock.

I believe you could surpass the limitation by using the open disk tray >> stop disk >> close disk tray to skip cinematics method, but not entirely sure on that one

To play PS1 games released on PSN, do I have to have the most up-to-date firmware for the PSP? I haven't updated mine in years (Been lazy, not from modding) so I want to know before it comes out.

You definitely have to update your PSP to play it, but it does it automatically.

Yeah they spread them out to give each game more of a chance and more spotlight, they do it with PSN and XBLA games too, there is usually a queue so they don't release too many at the same time and end up competing with eachother.

Yeah I know, but I was replying to what Orson said. Some people think it's just a case of Sony putting up whatever they want and that they own it and it's all so simple. But it's no where near as simple as that, they have to re-license everything for digital distribution (this includes all music within the game) and if they hit any snags or can't get a the license, it can't go up. So they have to go through each individual game and re-license everything for that single game.

Been playing for the last two days, am absolutely enjoying it. Brings back so many memories. And although I always prefer English games to German ones, the German translation is actually good for once. Definately worth the 9.99 I paid.

Has anyone downloaded the psn version and got it to work with a CFW? when i tried it it wanted OFW 6.2 but as i am using 5.55 its not working. Anyone have any suggestions?

P.S its the EU version of ff9 if that makes any difference.
