Bought the cds on ebay like 2 years ago. Have started it 2 times since then. Never finished. on my 3rd try right now just using an emulator and playing at work on 3rd cd. Realy hoping i finish it this time its a great game. Just i get A,D.D on RPGs to easy ~.~

I haven't played it in years, prob 8 years now, and I had like a bajillion hours put into my 2nd playthrough b/c that's when I leveled up a ton to beat Ozma. Guess I might be due to play it again.

Man all this talk about characters has made me buy this game again. At first I wasn't going to because the last three times I played it I never beat it. Same with VII and VIII. I get between 50-70% of the game and lose interest because I already know the plot having beat it so often before.

Sorry to jump a month old topic, but I just got to the chocobo hot/cold game part and being the grind whore I am, I decided to grind for a ring+robe immediately. The problem is I fucking suck at hot/cold. Do the later chocobo upgrades make finding stuff easier or not? If not, can anyone offer any tips on how to find the spot easier once you've pinpointed the KWEEHH!!? Sometimes I can find that within seconds but then spend a minute trying to find the damn dig spot.

It definitely seemed easier when I upgrade but I don't think that's the case. I got to about 3k points until I got my Gold Chocobo... Good luck lol.

I'm not sure if finding the spot gets easier with Beak lvl, but I know your digging speed goes up. That lets you dig through those 100-200's with ease.

Anyways, when it comes to finding the spot, I usually get the 'KWEHHH!!?' then I'll dig around that. Like, one step above it, one step to the left or right, one step below. It usually works, but sometimes I'll get those minute ones you're talking about.

That's what I was doing as well, but giving further explanation would be impossible. You just get the hang of it after a few hours.


Also, leveling your chocobo in the coral reef is much faster. You can easily dig 4/8 items for a shit ton of points.

Yeah I played for a few more hours and couldn't manage more than 4~5 points per run unless I hit a chocograph. Gave up and went back to exp grinding and moving on with the story. Figured I'd at least go until I got my river chocobo so I could pick up some more tablets while spamming for points.
