Xbox 360 Hard drive requirements?

So I picked up a copy of FFXI for the Xbox 360 and was wondering how much space the game will take up. I'm sure a 20gb hard drive would cover it but with the memory stick update just around the corner would I be able to get away with using an 8gb stick or would I need to get a 16gb?
