Nice. I never heard of it. How much is it?
$17300, renewable for 3 more years, I think
Sweet, congratulations!!!!
Is that in Canadian money? Because our vending machines wont accept those, and thus it's worthless.
'Wooooooooo' will suffice I think.
Also, I assume that's full tuition at your school, right? So basically you're all set for the rest of your undergraduate career? (you're an undergrad, right?)
Holy crap, niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. So this is basically like a graduate fellowship? Full tuition, plus a stipend, plus you don't have to work?
Congratulations. I'm hoping and praying I get a fellowship when I go for my physics graduate degrees, but they're so freakin competitive.
so happy for you shiro :D :D
btw shiro you owe me 17299 dollarz
NSERC?
Moar liek NEEERD
Yeah, it's pretty close. Plus if I get accepted to my first choice (which I am expecting, especially in light of this), it's easily top three, if not number one school in Canada for it.
If you can get some publications, it will really help scholarships along, but I only had one in the works when I applied for this one.
I'd look around at different universities. Honestly, what each one offers differs so much from university to university. It's ridiculous.
brograbs would not accurately convey how happy I am for you
oh fuck it

Brograbs are appropriate in every situation.

If this works like fellowships here, you'll definitely get into any school you want.
I'm almost sure I'll have at least one publication before I graduate. All of my professors seem sure that I'll get a fellowship, but when I talk to other graduate students or look up stuff online, it seems that the odds are against me.
I would go for it. As often as profs can be a bit muddled about certain things that are not directly related to them, they have really good insights about this kind of stuff.
Some of the strangest, conflicting information I have ever heard has come from graduate students.
