Same impetus as the faggot who goes to a comedy show, sees 90% of the audience laughing, and decides to start heckling the comedian from the front row. I honestly thought it was an alright game but I've been driven to hate it because it gets way too much credit by fans for stuff it didn't innovate. I never got a chance to play system shock but I have played through Deus Ex a few times- it's pretty sad when a game like Bioshock implements mechanics that are dumbed down versions of mechanics from over a decade ago and they get labeled as revolutionary

also the game has like no replay value

oh also the game's trademark atmosphere, which is cool for the first few hours, basically means you're running around dark, dingy, brown corridors for most of it

I blame the steampunk = automatically good trend for bioshock's success
