Here's a post from the grave (yeah, one more, I don't seem to be THAT dead...)

I met Bercus when I left Cetra a few years ago, he's the one who made me not quit back then.
I got the "pleasure" to lead Hokuten with him, so I think I have a good enough vision of the guy.

It has been said several times already, but he's skilled at all his jobs (I don't count his lolSCH at 73 for 2 years), with very good to top gear for most of them.
He has planned and lead Dynamis (from cities to Tav) and Einherjar runs for Hokuten successfully for several years, thanks to research and serious involvement. During these runs, and against the few HNMs we could claim, he showed his ability to adapt himself and the group strategy very quickly. He was definitely the central pillar of Hokuten.

As a sack, he was lovely and horrible, I never expected to be able to be that pissed by someone I liked that much lol
He's a natural leader, but I would recommend to not sack him, in order to let him get some fun he could not have these last years (actually, fuck that, he sacked me even though I didn't want to, so make him work hard again ).

The guy is very fun, pervert (I'm still moaning when I think about you Bercus...), and will sometimes go crazy with no reason at all, especially on Ventrilo. Beware though, he can also bitch at times if some people can't do their job properly.

So, to summarize, he's definitely a FFXI expert if one can be, and will be an upgrade for any LS around here.


PS: Bercus, don't tell me you called me at 11pm yesterday for this! My wife now thinks I'm about to come back, which means no sexxx for me today! I HATE YOU!!! (now send me these famous pics of you, nude at the beach with your favorite cuncumber. I deserve them.)

First of all thank you to everyone that posted, for some I know it is hard to let me go and it definatly is hard for me as well, reading all the nice comments put a frog in my throat. Last 3 years been interesting and challenging as Marcel posted, a big group of new players got trained to awesome players, but this wasn´t just because of me, it was because of many people giving tips, hints and help. The last 3 years helped me change a lot too.

Yes Seedz, it sadly means that there is no longer the Hokuten it used to be. There are remaining people but I have no idea what they will be doing (BZ and BG are good options for our NA), CS already got one of our best players ;_;. The pearl will remain on Bahamut though. Good luck to you too.

As a player in Final Fantasy 11 Bercus is beyond reproach. I have to say though he is a lousy person. Bercus lives in Germany, but a few years ago he made a trip to the good old US of A. I was in his Linkshell for maybe a year and a half before he made his trip, so I knew him pretty well as a friend, and I have seen his picture on the forums and I know that he is a handsome man.

When he came to Vegas, I offered to show him around a bit and buy him a drink. We had a very pleasant dinner, Bercus, his girl, and I, but then she retired early leaving us to talk. I was noticing things I had never before noticed in a man, or if I had I was unwilling to admit on a conscience level. He was very nice, and I think he noticed my looks that lasted a fraction of a second too long.

I am not even sure how we ended up in my room but we did. It was the first time anything like that has happened to me, but it was clear that he was no amateur. Nothing that happened needs to be detailed, but I was in pure bliss, and as he left, he promised me he would come back before his trip was over.

I waited in that room for 3 days playing final fantasy and waiting for him to return. Return he did, but on my laptop screen. He was back in Germany, laughing about a speeding ticket he got that he wouldn’t have to pay. I didn’t know what to do. He sent me a pushy tell saying “Sorry, nothing personal.” That was when I asked if I meant anything to him.

As his speeding ticket turned into a warrant for his arrest for failure to pay, or show up in court, realization dawned that he wasn’t coming back, and that he had just used me. He continues to be a great FF persona, but if he is willing to gum me up and spit me out, who knows what he is capable of.

The bad thing is 2 parts of that story are actually true >.<

While everyone will have their stories of Bercus, I would like to give a brief overview and possibly shed light on a few things. Bercus and I played ffxi together for years. In this time we did many things, and saw a linkshell go from nearly broken to one of the best shells on the server. Now this is not to say that was all because of Bercus. Truly, it is not the leader who makes a linkshell but the members themselves. Stating this, it would be absurd to not give Bercus a large portion of the credit. In this regard, it is also absurd to blame Bercus entirely for any shortcomings of the linkshell. I would like people to know that while not omnipotent, Bercus was a great player and shell holder in the years I played with him.

I would like to address some issues people may have had. First of all, Sonomaa stated that Bercus loves the cock. While this is a widely known fact, do we not all love Bercus’ cock? I sincerely ask this, because if Bercus does not love the cock himself, how could he allow others to love his? This is an important point to show that Bercus is a virtuous person who tries very hard to take other’s feelings into consideration.

My second example is when Kuno ended his post with “Ps. He’s a doody head.” The “Ps” In this instance stands out to me. I think it shows that while Kuno wanted to say it, he was unsure how to. He finally overcame his fears and added it to the end of his post. Now the word doody head could have a myriad of meanings. The first that came to mind is envy. Kuno possibly was envious of what Bercus achieved and wanted to insult him. This is a possible cause, but I don’t believe this is the case. Another reason could be a sexual desire. Kuno could with for Bercus to take a doody on his head after intercourse. The cause of this could be that Kuno has extensive homophobic beliefs. He truly desires to have sex with Bercus, but subconsciously thinks it’s appalling. Having Bercus take a doody on his head could be a form of punishment. I also don’t think this would be the cause, because I don’t know Kuno well enough to judge his nature. The final cause I will detail could be depression. Kuno is depressed that his good friend Bercus will be leaving. Because of this, he is lashing out at Bercus because he feels abandoned by Bercus. I understand these feelings, because many people here feel the same way. I believe this is the cause of Kuno’s statement at the end of his post. We all will miss Bercus dearly, and while not throwing insults, we are upset by his departure.

My third and final point is this has to deal with what Jacob wrote. Jacob feels that Bercus took advantage of him and left him in Las Vegas. He clearly had not experienced an encounter of the sort before. Bercus on the other hand seems to have experience in it. This caused Jacob to believe that Bercus used him, possibly just like others before. When he says that Bercus never came back, it can draw a lot from my analysis of Kuno’s point. Jacob felt abandoned by Bercus just as Kuno does. They both miss him, and show their feelings in visible ways, Kuno by lashing out and Jacob by turning his depression inward. We can infer that both of these people previously had friendly relationships with Bercus by how his departure affected them. I believe Bercus needs to confront these issues and comfort those hurt before leaving. If Bercus is unable to do this, he could be remorseful about it for the rest of his life.

In closing, Bercus shows great character, though he hurts those left behind. He is truly compassionate, and is not stingy with a reach around. Bercus does need to improve the relationships he leaves behind though, for his sake and others’ as well. I believe that any linkshell would be crazy to not accept Bercus. Just seeing the sadness left behind when he leaves should be reason enough that he is a great guy. Truly the linkshell which receives him with be bettered by it.
