I always read wisdom teeth horror stories...my experience was I went in, they didn't administer any anesthetic(cause I'm allergic to what they used), they just like drilled in for a grip and yanked them out.

The actual pulling out barely hurt more than a second, it was the PRESSURE of the tool pulling that was uncomfortable.

It was uncomfortable for a few days, dunno why people need vicodin and codiene though.

Need is a strong word, enjoy might be more like it. I only used about 5 of the 30 I was given which turned out to be a god send later (fuck having a stent and having to constantly walk around at work)

I was totally awake during my extraction... I didn't get any painkillers, and I watched him cut my two bottom teeth in half and pull them out in pieces. I didn't get any painkillers and I was eating pizza the next night... Quick recovery. =P

Ah man, all I know of my wisdom teeth is what I was told. They gave me a whole bottle of vicodin that I spent days tripping on and they knocked me out so good I don't remember anything after they put the needle in my arm until like an hour after I woke up.

The teeth came in sideways and the surgeon had to dig through my gums, smash the teeth and pull out the shards, then hack the root away from the bone. His words.

They only bled for a few hours, though. You're gonna die probably.

I had a convo w/ my dentist about this. He's like you should have it removed, apparently one is showing its ugly face. Then the gf keeps telling me horror stories about it and now this. Idk man, sounds too painful ;/

I remember when I had my wisdom teeth pulled, had all 4 done at once. When I was under, I had a dream that I was in a rap music video about teeth, and my oral surgeon was in it with me (he was black). When I came out of the sleep I kept trying to dance, I had no idea what was going on, it was pretty amazing.

Anyways. Mine bled for a long time as well, but what I would recommend is keeping your mouth as clean as you can after the bleeding stops and you start eating again. My gums got infected where the incision was made, they swelled up so much it was disgusting. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Keep your gums clean yo.

i had my bottom two wisdom teeth broken apart and pulled out piece by piece, apparently i was one of few people who didnt pass out from the sound of hearing their own teeth crack and break apart in their mouth, local anesthetic was used and the thing that hurt the most was administering the anesthetic itself, i had the pleasure of having a mirror in front of me, i saw the surgeon work the whole thing, its quite a sight

the bleeding was as profuse as izzy's, by the time i was out of the office my mouth was full of blood and i wanted to replace my gauze then and there, but i waited the two hour drive home, slowly feeling blood pool in my mouth, it kept going and i wasnt worried about it, just wash your mouth out often when you run out of gauze with saline solution

I had my bottom left wisdom tooth taken out last year, and holy shit was that awful. The tooth came in at a 45° angle, and I had some monstrous pro-wrestler looking guy who was absolutely brutal have to break the tooth into 3 pieces and pull it out. It was made worse with half of the tooth being missing (since it came in at a weird angle, I never brushed it right, so it kinda half rotted away.) Everything hurt with this, the drilling, the pulling, even the goddamn Novocaine hurt like a bastard.

I tried to stand up after he was done, cause I just needed to leave there (my fear of needles was not helped by this experience), and I was shaking all over. Honestly, this was one of the worst experiences of my life.

With that said, I stopped bleeding within a few hours of getting home, although I have no clue when cause I was high as a kite on Vicodin. Amazingly enough, I still went to work the next day, which was stupid as all hell.

My entire procedure was done with local anesthetic. It actually didn't hurt at all. The only unsettling part was hearing your teeth pop and crack lol.

The bleeding in my mouth finally stopped, and now it's starting to hurt a little bit. Is that the healing?

I was told no solid food for a week, so yogurt and jell-o were my friends. Along with the anti-biotic they gave me, yeah, life was a gastrointestinal adventure for a week.

When I had my teeth pulled, I contracted dry sockets and suffered the worst 2-3 weeks imaginable. I literally did not sleep for longer than 30 minutes for two weeks. No drugs helped.

Just be glad you aren't me.

I was kinda nervous about getting mine pulled, but they put me under completely + local and gave me 2 weeks of the good pain meds, an anti-nausea med, and one other thing that I can't think of. I had all 4 of mine pulled at the same time

Living with a wisdom tooth that's trying to come out is the only painful part really, if it catches infection you won't even be able to open your mouth for a week(soup all day yo!) You won't be able to talk as well until antibiotics clear it up.

The operation is simple and completely painless. It does start hurting after the effects of local anesthesia wear off at night but nothing unbearable with pain killers.

it is sold to companies involved with medical dermal grafting. Circumcision is a fucking billion dollar industry in this country.

Yeah it's seriously no problem at all unless you manage to contract dry sockets. Do not exert yourself, do not smoke, do not drink through a straw etc. If you get dry sockets you will want to kill yourself, I guarantee it.

You're like my brother. He had all four removed and was eating pizza that night.

I, on the other hand, had a swollen jaw and face for a week. I couldn't eat much more than a milkshake and I could barely speak.

Had all 4 of mine taken out nearly exactly a year ago. I don't have dental insurance but the hospital I went to set me up on this plan where I only had to pay a quarter of the price which was nice.

I was the first patient of the day and I'm not quite sure how long it took them to get my teeth out but I made them use general anesthesia and I remember laughing nearly uncontrollably once I woke up. However, they didn't give me any medicine right away but simply prescribed them to me so I was in a shit ton of pain about 20 mins later. I actually passed out on the drive home before the codeine took effect because it hurt so much.

The night after, I bled all over this new pillow I got but aside from having swollen gums the next few days, I was fine after that night.
