To those that are commenting on the Lalafell, i feel i should point out thats how small children run and personally think its very appropriate.

I'm around kids frequently and I don't see any of them running with their arms glued to their sides. They don't walk that way either. They move their arms like normal human beings. Wasn't there a Seinfeld episode about this? It looks unnatural.

There's plenty of better stuff to bitch about than the predictable character animations. SE has never designed a child-like race or a child that didn't act irritably cutesy.

About the Lalafell walking animation, it actually didn't bother me too much. I actually like the fact that they're taking the time to greatly differentiate the different styles of walking and running. I think the arms could use a few more keys, but I'm going to chalk up people thinking it looked odd because of the camera angle.

Yes, but are they japanese kids? Because for the most part, all animations in FF games are based on horrible japanese over-acting. Like when the hume gives his thumbs up and nods his head in the most ridiculously overactive fashion. Or hell, just look at how overdramatic the panic motion is. When's the last time you saw someone dance in place like that because they were worried about something?

Also, that may end up being a female only Lalafell walk animation (and it is a walk, there's a scene with the Taru and Galka walking while the Hume runs). I wouldn't be surprised if SE made the differences between male and female Lalafell much more distinct then the ones between male and female Taru. They're both getting different underwear so chances are they'll see different emotes and animations as well.

Though in a perfect world, we'd be able to choose our own animations )=
