Summary: there's a secondary lock that is meant to leave the doorknob either turnable or locked without having to touch the deadbolt. The genius locksmith installed it backwards so when I flipped it while leaving the house that was no problem. However when I came back...

I came home one day and couldn't get in, something like this happened. 3 people were inside and I was outside.
Had to call apt beeper and some dude came over and ripped the entire doorknob off.
