Went in to this movie with high expectations and was not disappointed, I even expected for Loki to have a monologue and be interrupted and cried tears when it happened (It's a Whedon trademark, can think of at least three instances in Buffy where this happened).

I don't remember that explanation in the movie. Was it at the same time the shadowy figures were telling fury about the nuke? I just assumed we didn't see the military because the whole battle was over the span of like 30m tops and it takes a long time to get tanks and large numbers of troops anywhere.

He's talking about real life. The pentagon often lets movies use jets and military equipment. They wouldn't let Avengers because it wasn't "real" enough.

There was no in-movie explanation. It was later learned the the Armed Forces weren't included since our government didn't approve of the way they'd have been depicted.

It's a gimmick just like movies in color instead of black and white is a gimmick. Shit evolves. It's still not done perfectly, and a lot of movies are better without it, but its still way better than old 3d of shit flying out towards you all the time.

Fuck off, 3d is not like the change from black and white to color. It doesn't make things really 3d or more visible. It hurts my eyes more than anything. I saw the Ultimate Marvel Marathon and the first 3 movies were normal and last 3 were 3d and I can easily say I'll take normal over it anyday.

First off 3D is a gimmick by definition as it is using a method to increase the appeal of the movie. 3D that is done properly adds to the users visual experience and that is what usually drives people to watch it. I am not a huge fan of 3D, but i would advise you to watch at least one movie in 3D. It may or may not be something you will enjoy visually (Some people get headaches), but you might be able to see why people like it after watching it once.

Idk what else to say about it, goddamn. Shit's been around for 10 years, and its getting better and better all the time. I didn't say it was perfect, or even that it was better than normal movies. I don't think its a gimmick though. It's the next step in making movies look more realistic, just like color, just like CGI getting better and better.

3D will be great... if producers and studios can learn recognize which movies are made better for it, as opposed to the ones that don't need it/made worse for it.

Guy I used to work with, and likely the most intelligent person I've ever met in any field, left our company to join James Cameron's team as the main coder for his next 3d movies. I expect them to be amazing lol.

Only movies I have enjoyed the 3D: Avatar (by far and away the best), Avengers, and Tron. I really didn't think it was bad at all in Avengers. I am NOT looking forward to it in Prometheus though, which is likely my personal most anticipated film of my life.

Most others have sucked, but its dependent on the team behind it.

I would have less of a problem with 3d if they were all shot like Avatar was. Seeing that in imax actually felt like I was part of what was going on. It was the only time I felt that the 3d had actually changed the movie watching experience for me. No other movie has managed to pull it off, not even Avengers.

Just watched it last night. Didn't bother with 3D/IMAX since I figured it would be rubbish. Only worthwhile movie I've seen in a long time that's good in 3D was Tron/Animated films on the big screen.

Anyways the movie was good. The story as expected was decent. I really didn't like how the movie started with Hawkeye being mind controlled. Especially for people like my fiance which really doesn't know the character that well (besides that he was a cameo in Thor). I felt they didn't introduce him properly, especially since he didn't have his own movie in the first place.

To be frank, now that I think about it. The whole movie could of been renamed to Hulk II since he was 99% of the spotlight. And damn good at that. I'm more than happy now that Edward got the boot for being a dick on the set/to Stan Lee & the rest of the team. Ruffalo did an amazing job at being the akward guy that orgasms over the thought of science.

I'd rate it around a 8.5/10. I don't expect Batman or Spiderman to do much better this year. Just seems to be a lackluster year compared to Iron Man/Dark Knight summer.

The Dark Knight was overrated, yeah I said it. Only reason movie got so much hype was because Heath was a little bitch and killed himself before it was released. Bale turned Batman into a parody of himself and Joker's claim to fame was a one-liner.
