    Spoiler: show
A script for a Ms/Captain Marvel movie is ready to go. They just needed an actress. Marvel are having a meeting in a couple of weeks and will be ready to announce some films then … He said we’d be pleasantly surprised.
If the rumor is true, that means Joe Quesada was doing some high qualit trolling at Kapow this weekend, when he stated over and over to fans, at the Q&A and to press that

    Spoiler: show
there are no plans to bring out any more female heroines to headline their own movie currently, and he feels that there aren't any actresses who can carry an action movie of that magnitude, or a heroine in the Marvel stable who's interesting enough (and some bullshit about funding).

(only spoilered because you spoilered the rumor)

Personally, I want him to have been trolling even if the rumor proves untrue, because the whole thing kind of made me want to stab someone through the eye socket.

Those movies were bad because they were written poorly.

Jessica Biel wouldn't be a bad idea especially if she got back to the shape she was in for Blade.

Saw it today. Great flick and I actually thought it could be hurt by the heavy involvement of wheadon and his TV style. The alien battles were pretty epic. The only things that really hurt the film were the Hulk's /random personality change to fit the story without a good explanation, black widow's "voluptuousness" and iron man's immaturity about teamwork like the kid's cartoon version of this story. Oh, and the absence of Nat portman due to irl preggo.

iron man's immaturity fit his character perfectly, not sure how that is a legitimate gripe

It certainly fit movie continuity Iron Man perfectly. And I think at least the sacrificial hero bit fits his comic personality (I haven't read any comics where he is the wise-cracking ladies man, but I don't read about comics)

The Hulk bit is the only thing that bugs me, but the film was so good overall I can get past it.

I think I brought it up earlier in the thread, but at the end of the Ed norton Hulk, didn't they discuss how he couldn't control the hulk, but he could direct it? Thats not an option if he is forced to change like early on in the movie, but if he changes because he wants to like at the end, then he can let Hulk know, Aliens bad, Avengers good. Or something like that lol.

Yeah in the Norton Hulk movie it was a plot point that he would try and channel the rage at the abomination hence why the military allowed him to be dropped back into Manhattan to fight.

The change is actually pretty consistent with hulk's character overall, there are times when he knows who needs a smashing and other times when he's this big green ass kicking fury machine.

There's also passage of time involved. Banner's character sought first to cure himself, then later, to embrace and control himself. The progression for me between Norton and Ruffalo indicated that time spent dealing with "the monster".

Pretty much. If you watch the end of the Hulk movie, he's meditating and learning how to control his changing. Right after, it shows him about to change which sort of indicates that he's learned how to change at will. It doesn't mean he doesn't change at all under other circumstances.

    Taken from the Wiki:

    Spoiler: show
The Hulk is resistant to most forms of injury or damage. The extent varies between interpretations, but he has withstood the equivalent of solar temperatures,[44] nuclear explosions,[45] and planet-shattering impacts.[46] Despite his remarkable resiliency, continuous barrages of high-caliber gunfire can hinder his movement to some degree, and this has been consistently portrayed outside the comic books, in both live-action films and animation. He has been shown to have both regenerative and adaptive healing abilities, including growing tissues to allow him to breathe underwater,[47] surviving unprotected in space for extended periods,[48][49] and when injured, healing from most wounds within seconds.[50] As an effect, he has an extremely prolonged lifespan.[51]
