Any characters powers varies with the writer. Hell Ultimate Wolverine came back from a single cell one time I believe.

so presuming it isn't the age thing maybe the only way to kill the Hulk Logan Sabertooth and possible deadpool is to turn them into dust?
Yeah, he did one of those. And then a few years later, he has a duel with the avatar of death for... the right to die.
Apparently, every supposedly-fatal wound he ever endured in his life from about WWII featured a fight with the avatar of death. If he lost, he'd die permanently. If he won, he returned to consciousness, which he obviously did. The writer attempted to use this to explain how Wolverine's regeneration became more powerful over time (recovering after Nitro vaporizes him leaving nothing but a skeleton, for example), and this last duel supposedly reset his healing (not really).
Anyway, the point here is the problem of ongoing series with impermanent teams: none of this shit is remotely consistent because the next guy almost always comes along to fuck up or undo what the last guy did.
ok something that can't be undone, what is "stronger" Vibrosium (the substance Captain America's shield is made of, the rarest metal known to man) or Adamantium (The "Strongest" metal known to man)
Pretty sure there are instances of Cap's shield being cracked. I'd give it to Adamantium.
What about Thor's hammer? I mean, that shit's not even made by man made... anything. Would it have done more damage if he had just laid it down on top of Cap instead of holding it after he bashed him? I mean Hulk couldn't even make it budge.
Basically all I've gotten from the last few pages is that Hulk's OP, needs nerfs.
I'm pretty sure he's lifted it before too, though only a little.
Yea, he has moved it which elicited as much shock as him breaking it. Also on the Hulk, with Thanos as the bad guy in Avengers 2, would love to see Avengers 3 have Hulk go nuts and be the major threat.
Also on Deadpools regenerative powers, I think I remember reading a few comics on how it's more chaotic than Logan's and dependent on how life threatening his injuries are. Such as in one a broken arm took a day to fully heal, but he had a huge hole blasted through his chest that healed almost immediately.
Cap's shield is made out of Vibranium (absorbs all vibrations.) Wolverine skeleton is Adamantium which is just stupidly stronger than any other known metals. Thor's hammer is an Asgadian magical metal called Uru.
the original shield was supposed to be an adamantium/vibranium combination, obviously this got retconned to just vibranium because Im not sure if marvel can name drop adamantium since its associated with wolverine which is fox properly. The shield is mostly indestructable however thor with the full power of the odinforce as well as odin or any odin level powers (the serpent) can break the shield (and have done so before).
wolverines skeleton was originally laced with adamantium which made him invulnerable unless all his DNA was removed (cell death). When it was removed by magneto ages ago wolverine later had beast attempt to re-lace it to him which didnt work (a claremont substory as I recall, its been mostly ignored) then it was properly put back on him by apocalypse when it was removed from sabertooth and logan was worked into the new angel of Death. The new infusion doesnt impede his healing factor as much as the old did, so he doesnt suffer from as much adamantium poisoning as he did before. That being said the easy ways to kill wolverine are to remove his head AND keep it separated from him, but he will come back to life if you re-attach them. Burn the flesh completely off him ala what Magneto did in the ultimates universe (heated the adamantium up until there were no cells left on the skeleton, thus killing wolverine in that universe. Or just shut off his healing factor like jean grey did in one of the several times she was brought back (alternate universe death).
Hulk can break both of these metals if he is angry enough, a fully charged odin force laced thor can do the same. Uru is not as indestructible as both metals when it doesnt have the power of the odinforce running through it (see Ragnarok comic when thor died). Mjolnir is as strong as it is because of magic, not metal.
Currently in the marvel U the wakanda vibranium was rendered inert by tchalla after Doom stole all of it and started making super doom bots, leaving only north pole vibranium which is much much less stable and requires adamantium lacing to be considered functional, otherwise it vibrates on a different frequency which tears itself apart when you smack it. Wakanda vibranium vibrates on a dispersion frequency which goes away harmlessly. The metal for caps shield was a gift from tchaka after cap did a recon mission into wakanda, fought with tchaka (and lost) and earned his respect when he told them he would leave them alone.
I wish they had been able to play with that a little bit in avengers, this would have been an awesome little aftermovie trailer.
Spoiler: show
tldr: both admanantium and vibranium are the boss level metals in the marvel universe and uru is only as strong as the odinforce running through it. Uru with odinforce > admanant/vibraium > uru without odinforce
edit: almost forgot. what each strengths and weaknesses are. They are unstoppable force meets immovable object. Adamantium makes better weapons because its strong and doesnt break, but it weighs a ton and thus makes crappy armor (stark made an adamantium iron man suit and it was clunky as hell). Vibranium makes better armor because it absorbs incoming attacks but is shite for bullets and most weapons because it absorbs the impact too much. Blunt objects like shields are better because the impact can be re-directed out, hence caps super strength giving him an easy to wield shield. Also vibranium is light but too expensive to be made into armor (and tchalla never liked stark that much).
vibranium can be reforged, adamantium is basically unforgeable after its set unless you are a master of molecular adjustment and magnets
All hail the admincat.
sorry if this is old, but it's an interesting take on things: Why Loki Won in The Avengers
^ Interesting idea, but i think its reaching a little too much. I could see it playing out like that in the end, but not because it was the plan all along, but more because Loki finds a way to appease Thanos with the gloves.
