I watched Cap America and Thor after i watched the Avengers (was meant to watch it before but rl stuff made it impossible at the time) but i did wonder after the film why was he happy to go back with thor, i thought Loki got imprisoned in the Thor film and not banished but apparently i suck at pay attention these days

no i watched it but that's what i was saying i don't remember him getting banished i remember the whole "thor don't stop the teleporter or you'll never see her again!" *thor fucks shit up and breaks the teleporter* "YOU'LL NEVER SEE HER AGAIN! HAHAHA" random stuff happens "Samuel is she still thinking about me" "Yes Thor she is and trying to figure out a way to get back to you" or something like that

He didn't get banished lol. He fell off the bridge into space or w/e and disappeared. After the credits though, they showed him manipulating the scientist working with the cube.

^ Interesting idea, but i think its reaching a little too much. I could see it playing out like that in the end, but not because it was the plan all along, but more because Loki finds a way to appease Thanos with the gloves.

Yeah, if it was the plan all along, why would The Other make no mention of it. All he says is that Loki failed and Earth will be a bitch to take over.

The blog/article/whatever doesn't just pin it on Loki, but does say that it was part of overall Thanos's plan. Although, he said that Loki might just be looking out for Loki and the part with Thanos was more of a possible extension

I don't know much about the Gauntlet, so forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't it plus all the gems far more powerful than a single gem alone? Why would Loki settle for just one gem if he could have the whole set?

its much easier to take one gem and no one notice then stealing the whole gauntlet and setting off the alarm

That's kind of a lame cop out if it turns out that way. I mean, you would think a treasure room filled with crazy shit like that would routinely be monitored, inspected, and accounted for.

Well, to be fair, they might have included the Gauntlet in Thor just to look cool for people who noticed and if it actually is involved in the story, the one in Thor won't be it -- kinda like Captain America's Shield was in Iron Man just for people who were paying attention.
