Sorry late on the reply but thanks very much for the link!!!! Definitely holding out now.
Although details are fuzzy but it seems the THOR dvd doesn't contain the Blu-ray extras (i.e. that agent short movie) -- I'll dig around to see if the blu-ray contains anything extra.
Have a friend who is working on doing FFVI/Avengers combinations in Amano style. Her first work:

This movie was so awesome, it was awesome!! I had to watch it dubbed in Portuguese because no movie theater anywhere near my house had the subtitled (in Portuguese, therefore English audio) version, and it was still awesome (I normally hate dubbed movies)!!
The whole "Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?" bit was funny even in Portuguese, rofl.

Looks like Avengers is at least gonna pass Titanic in the US.
I was thinking. In a perfect world, would they at least nominate The Avengers for Best Picture? I mean, it really did have everything you wanted in a movie. Good action, passable story, well written humor. Movie kept you interested the whole time. I know it's not something that will be done, just wondering if people think it should be.
Not enough orphaned gay crippled kids with aids in it.
Not gonna happen. Superhero movies are being taken slightly more seriously than before, but unless you put a Nolan-level of serious realism-spin on it, they won't even glance twice at it.
TDKR will take the one spot for movie nomination probably. TDK is what caused them to start doing 10 movies afterall. Even then I don't see a Superhero movie winning.
Not a chance, the vast majority are old aged white males. Hell, I don't even see it as an Oscar contender lol.
I was meaning more, in your eyes is it the best movie of the year. I figure there's no chance in this world we live in that they'll nominate it. It's a shame because once upon a time, it wasn't always the artsy or movies based on real events or people that won every year.
This. Though for me, "best movie of the year" is also a sort of ambiguous question that I think is hard to answer. Best at what? How do you quantify it? Do you go by what movie I liked best? Because to use TDK as an example (since TDKR isn't here yet), I really loved the everloving shit out of that movie, but in a different way than The Avengers and the MCU movies. Do you go by what movie I'd watch more times? Cause there are some movies that are mind-blowingly awesome, but that I can't sit through time and time again (length, subject matter, etc). In that respect, I suppose the Academy found a solution, but only evaluating the artsy-fartsy films and taking all the "fun" ones out of the equation. XD
The Academy only grudgingly gave the last LoTR film an Oscar for best film. I think that took up the quota for the next 100 years.
