I'm glad they didn't go with that opening scene, they definitely picked the right one.

Not a fan of that alternate opening at all. Glad they didn't do the whole flash forward/back thing.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One Box Set Moves To Spring 2013, Will Undergo Changes
Like many of you, I was thoroughly depressed to hear that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One Box Set was in danger of being cancelled, but now it looks as though some good news has surfaced online. While the set won't look the same as it did and it won't be available at the end of the month like originally announced, Marvel is still planning to bring together their first six movies in one package soon enough.
Coming Soon reports that the box set has not been cancelled, but will instead be moved to next spring with changes to the design being planned. As reported earlier this week, German suitcase company Rimowa GmbH sued Marvel Studios over the release, as while they had agreed to let one of their designs be used in The Avengers, they didn't say it would be okay for the studio to use the same design for any other purpose. An official release date has not yet been announced, nor have the details about the extent of the changes.
The 10-disc set was made to look like the suitcase used by Nick Fury and the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to transport the Tesseract. The package included both Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D versions of The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor and Blu-ray versions of Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk. In addition to the case, the original model of the box set was to include a Tesseract that lights up when put in the case as well as other props from the films (such as a set of Captain America trading cards, a newspaper clipping about Iron Man and more).
As I have already sold my copies of all the solo movie Blu-rays, I will definitely be one of the people that will be waiting for the box set to arrive in stores. But what about you guys? Are you going to wait until spring before picking up a copy of The Avengers or are you just too excited to wait? Let us know in the comments section below.
Huge mistake.
I'm getting the Wal-Mart blu-ray. Comes with a graphic novel written by Peter David (not sure who did the art yet)
For.Fucks.Sake.
Not only having to wait months longer.. but it'll probably suck now.
They should have just paid royalties, and sent off the ones they had made already to the people that had them reserved.
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.
I had it pre-ordered and was so excited to get this.
Now I dunno if I should just cancel and get the blu-ray instead. -_-
Well this is a huge bummer. Had a marathon day planned and everything.![]()
Dammit, there goes my pre-order. I really wanted that briefcase.
Seems sad that it's over a briefcase - couldn't they just redesign it a bit?
Go read, now.

Huge fucking shit up for the UK release.
Basically we're getting the movie, but no extras. Amazon's review page is filled with enraged people.
How does anyone fuck this up? Are you serious?!
Apparently's it's Disney's fault. But still, this totally ruins it.
It's sad that they want to clamp down on piracy but yet they bring it upon themselves to force consumers to go down this route because they can't get something as simple as this right.
That's odd. In the Netherlands we get the extra's. Region free bluray ffs, why bother with that, but not give you guys the extra's?
I read about this a couple of weeks ago here: http://www.sfx.co.uk/2012/08/23/blog...ngers-dilemma/
IIRC, you can buy the film with the commentary from Tesco's. Not sure about any other extras.
Thanks for that link.
I'll bide my time a little bit, and see what's on offer. The Sainsbury edition seems better currently (with a 90 min documentary on something and the extras).
I'll keep an eye out. I can't buy the box set now as all the Blu Rays in there are missing extras. So I'm looking to buy all the Blu-Rays seperately to get ALL the extras.
I need my extras to satisfy my curiousity. And I kind of wanted to be a movie maker anyway.
Amazon just gave me a free copy of the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack due to the collector's edition being pushed back to Spring. Neat!
