And what Zhi said about GMs is true. I don't believe the GMs are closely monitored enough to not be able to get away with a LOT of low/sneaky shit if they want to. From what I understand it's kind of a 'loose' work environment >.> It's not really about risking their job lol (and like d44k said they don't get paid very much either). GMs are not restricted from playing FFXI, they can be anyone in the game and you might never know it, obviously most of them don't go around advertising it. Pretty sure the playerbase has noticed this by now but GMs are just average Joe customer service reps and don't always make the best choices. Hacking/changing info on/otherwise altering a rival linkshell player's account is definitely not out of the question. It happens, and it probably happens more than we realize. (and no, I don't care whether one is doing that for apathy).

However, there are good aspects of GMs too, such as that other thread where those guys got their blackbelts and relic back.
