Assessment Questions on Applications

At this point I've filled out at least 20 different applications looking for full-time work at various locations, and have yet to receive a phone call from any of them for almost two weeks now.

My work experience is pristine, so I'm almost positive that's not the problem. I've never committed any felonies, and I'm most definitely not a sex offender. So that leaves the assessment questions (the long list of annoying questions they ask you at the end of every application).

At first I answered these honestly, then I started thinking about it. A lot of these questions seem to be related to one another, so I'm wondering, what the fuck is it that these places are looking for? >.>; I'm sure I'm not the only person who's had this problem.

But seriously, those assessment questions are bullshit. To cut to the chase, I lie every time. Honesty won't work here. I had a friend in management at Best Buy tell me I failed those questions, and that's because I was being honest. Basically, tell the company what they want to hear.

Ex.
What would you do if someone started gossip?

ID GO RIGHT TO THE MANAGER. IT'S MY DUTY HURR DURR. Etc.

Isn't that common sense? When you are trying to essentially sell yourself as a product, you make sure they hear what they want to hear

Pretty sure they're also looking for consistency within your answer. Basically its usually the same 10-15 questions reworded 5 different ways and if you have a different answer for the same question every time, that will certainly red flag you.

Yeah I noticed a consistency for most questions, and I pretty much have it down to a science now.
