Should I move to chapter 12?

I just beat that retarded robot thing and can get on the ship to Eden but I'm wondering if I should do other stuff before that. I think I've done like 11 missions and everyone is capped on their defaults to lvl 4. I'm not sure I want to walk all the way to the highlands to farm CP but I'm wondering if it's worth it to do that instead of just carrying on with the story.

I would recommend to anyone that has hit GP to do at least the first 17 missions, you'll unlock chickens and 18-26 are progressed in the storyline.

You could probably just go ahead and do chapter 12 and then once you hit orphan's cradle you can go back if you want, since you probably have no warps and thats a ton of back tracking.

if you have your 3 main roles capped I'd suggest trying for Growth Egg mission (#55 I think). It's still a very tough fight w/ just 3 roles capped, but w/enough patients & preparation and u will get it. You can also do the Adamantortoise mission (forgot mission #) for Genji gloves w/ the summon/death trick... Though this will be more time consuming since you need to zone into Fault Warrens to activate the Ce'ith stone, w/takes some running around and some pre-req missions.

And what Kyo said, if you didn't do at least up to mission 14 before u did ch11 story then i don't think you can activated any of the non-story based Cei'th stones otw through chapter 11. So you prolly missed a good bunch of tele stones and it will require a lot of backtracking

I'd say stay on Chapter 11 until you've done absolutely everything you can. I didn't leave until I had only a few missions left that I couldn't beat, and now that I did I wish I had stayed.

It's the only good part of the game really, live it up while you can.

I thought you could go back to all the chapter 11 stuff later?

You can, but by Ch.13 or post-credits then 80% of the missions are a total joke.

While thats true, it's due to character and crystarium progression.

if you want the missions to be easy, progress.
if you want some challenge, stay.... although staying will make ch 12&13 easy so it's really up to you

I personally found chapter 12 to be quite tough. The bosses were really easy, but the regular mobs caused me some trouble. Same thing is happening with chapter 13 and trying to progress from there. I went back to Pulse at the start of 13 and have been farming the past little bit to get back on track.

I blew through chapter 12 (its not that hard if you avoid shit) then went back to Pulse at the start of chap 13 and did marks like a mother fucker. The result is that anything in Chap 13 is dying silly easy, only think i'm not looking forward to is last boss because a friend of mine did the same thing and said he had trouble.

Final Boss is mostly about preparing to fight it right. I went in and got my ass owned three times in a row. Seriously, only once did I get it to 50% health. Then I just threw one anti-death accessory on myself and changed up my para set up. Killed the thing in just a few minutes and don't recall having to switch to a medic more then once. It felt like I had gone and power leveled for days.

I got to the end of chapter 11, and realized I hadn't done the money quest, so I went and did it real quick.

I was basically at a toss-up then for what to do, so I upgraded Fang's spear and Vanille's debuffing staff to the * rank before ultima, and did lightning's axis blade to just the first star since I'll probably do her lionheart in the end.

Anyway, I kind of sat around debating on what to do, did some stones, and a couple days ago I did like an hour or 2 of grinding on the behem/wolf...

Now I'm in chapter 12 and yeah... it's such a joke with these weapons that I'm seriously considering either going back and goofing off in 11 while some stones are still semi-challenging, or maybe even just unequipping the weapons to go through 12.

I'm thinking the most entertaining way to do it is basically to get to there, run through the rest of the game "as-is" so that it's still some semblance of a challenge, and then go back to that save and do all of 11 while it's still a challenge, and then burn through to 13 (which will be a complete joke given the upgrades you'll manage) to get into the heavy CP grinding with egg on you, and go into endgame on that save.

But yeah, in a matter of 5 minutes, entirely with just stuff I got along the way (not even digging into the money quest money until my 2nd weapon), I took Fang's staff from lv1 to 2nd stage *, and in the process I went from the high end hits with 999.9 stagger being 8~10k ish, to her popping out 20k+ per swing the minute stagger goes into effect at all.

I'm not that far into ch12, so I'll comment further if it starts to get hard, but yeah as of now I'm wishing I'd just burned through the story with no getting sidetracked, but meh. We'll see.

Edit: I should clarify-- prior to that moment the highest level weapons I had for anybody were tier 1 level 3 weapons (as in the first 2, like 1k exp, minuscule upgrades), and, well, I thought this game was pretty hard, lol. What's his nuts at the end of ch 11 took me 16 minutes, and I think the target time is like 8 lol.

i had 5/6 roles capped by the time i got to ch 13 boss and i didnt need to prep at all. i just raped all 3 fights and only time i needed to go to medic was during the 2nd fight move that forces you to lol. 3rd fight cast doom on me, but I beat it well before the CD was even 1/2 way down lol. I also had 1m CP saved up for the last crystalarium unlock, so when i spent all my points i immediately fought the last boss again and 5 starred it. So i wouldn't do what i did if u want any semblance of a challenge lol.
