I got bored the other day and tried to solo a crab in Walk of Echos. Gave pretty awesome skillups, but of course it's a little difficult to do just for that. No exp loss though so I couldn't really care.

I find that its quicker Skill ups in WoE then it just just finding an EM or T1 VNM but idk maybe its just my luck w/ getting skill ups XD
Damage is quite high even without attachments considering puppets do not have weapons to equip. The trick is to cycle through all 6 Fortalices inside the castle area (the other 2 at entrance are way too far to be worthwhile and not even needed anyway).
By the time you kill the sixth the first one will be up anyway.
My magic was capped from the Afflictor/Soulsoother trick and I strongly recommend that one for it because these take way too much damage from magic.
PUP is the only job that can safely engage the 4 Fortalice in the lower part for skill ups so it's really a good way to cap your skills at 75. Just Invisible> Deploy puppet> run to a safe place and wait.
Melee was the hardest to cap and took a couple days. But I'm sure it's done on purpose as it's used by all frames and a lot easier to trigger.
thnx for these tips. was looking for a way to cap club
Year old necro I know, blah blah. Anyone done this recently? I just came to one of the fortalices at F-7 and got agrod by a demon after like 2 minutes.
Fortifications, not Fortilaces.
There's a difference apparently as I skilled up on a Zvahl Fortilace weeks ago on my MNK so yes, Fortilaces still work.
Happy auto-attacking!
Edit: Nevermind, Rionel got it.
Rough idea on how high of a skill level these go?
Fortalices cap at level 75.
Mobs don't have a universal cap you can reach on them - it's all based on your job and the enemy level.
A MNK can get H2H skill to 276 (A+ skill cap at 75) on a Fortalice, whereas a WAR could only get it to 210 (D skill cap at 75).
As for aggroing demons, you can avoid this by standing at max melee distance on the staircase... never aggroed a demon once in 12+ hours.
Lvl 82 actually.
This goes to show no warrior in the game has an excuse to not have their red procs >:/
Would an 8dmg axe be too high for these? Only lower damage option I can find is relic axe, which I never bothered lotting in the past.
If I had the patience to afk there all day I'd probably use it to cap subjob combat skills, but I don't think I have the patience to do so, nor wait as I whiff 1/20 hits at 45 due to lack of acc gear.
