If it's not one thing it's another. The mastercard I used to pay for my account last month will no longer validate or something. It says it's unable to do the "Verified by visa" (or mastercard) or whatever. But I just used it last month. I have sufficient funds to use it and I have no idea what to do. I know a lot of people had a problem with stuff like this a long time ago, but what did you guys do? Help is much appreciated.

Yes I'm brand new. I suppose joining over a year ago is new. And I don't even want to hear the "You have low post count therefore you are stupid" response. That's on the same field as the rl card.

I don't know about your specific card, but I had similar problems with them not taking stuff that should've worked. The customer rep I talked to said he changed my billing manually as well but it didn't seem to kick in. So I used one of the cards he suggested and verified should work. Visa Mio prepaid or Mastercard Vanilla prepaid are some options. They should work for certain. It sucks but internet security makes business on the internet nearly impossible sometimes. Hope that helps.

These are actually helpful, it's just too bad I was looking for more of an instant gratification I'm stuck at work with nothing to do and my employer actually encourages personal computer use so you don't fall asleep. So long as the work gets done.

If you have a console that can do it, take advantage of it. I've used a prepaid card for FFXI since 2006, and they recently switched from MasterCard (SecureCode) to Visa (VBV). Because they're still switching accounts and waiting for Visa to get them ready, VBV isn't an option for me. This made me sad, but a quick forum search elsewhere made me slap my head when I realized you can't use SecureCode or VBV on a console (doesn't work at all).... Because I originally started on Xbox and still had it installed, I simply set up my information there, skipping the whole verifying business.

Once you enter all your card info and 3D secure info, click "edit" (or "back"?) to go back to the card info. You may or may not have to change something from the initial info you entered, i'm not sure, but after that step, click continue and your card should be accepted.

This method also works if you completely change the card info to a card that is not "3D secure"
