And multitasking is coming with OS4.0. Different ball game now.

A new ball game would be a new iPad that isn't a POS or a huge price cut.

Look at this way, I have a iPhone 3G model, one that will not be able to multitask according to Apple. So that means I have a choice between upgrading to the 3GS or the rumored 4th gen model that Apple will release.

Now you know, since I actually use my phone like crazy, I see a use for that upgrade, but I'm supposed to shell out $400+ dollars for a device I might use every now and then?

I can think of a lot better uses for my money.

This encompasses exactly why the iPad is a piece of shit. Apple thinks they can just release anything and no matter what the capabilities it will sell like mad and be the "new thing" that everyone wants to replicate. Their downfall with this release was the failure to bring anything new to the table and the lack of basic features that other slates have and are going to have. Yet, since they (steve jobs and co) think it's great, it'll still sell 500k in a day, which blows my mind. I don't even have anything against apple, the iPhone is awesome and so are macbooks, but this thing is just ridiculous. (I know the email is just talking about the case but it goes for the whole system)

Lol, reminds me of that guy who emailed Steve Jobs about the lack of FireWire port in then-new MBPs. He replied that one with a one-liner too

They did add FireWire on MBP's later on though, it was pretty fail for them to even consider removing it.

Actually what was fail was the existence of Firewire in the first place. Just like Sony (who helped co-design Firewire), Apple always tries way to hard to enforce their new standards or products on the market

Apple has stalled the international launch of the iPad due to high demand in the United States, and Chinese bootleggers are rushing to fill in the gap.

China residents desiring an Apple iPad can buy counterfeit versions of the tablet from a number of tiny shops in Shenzhen, China, according to a Reuters report.

One shopkeeper surnamed Lin told Reuters that his iPad knock-off, which runs Windows and features three USB ports, is competitively priced: 2,800 yuan ($410) compared to Apple’s iPad, priced between $500 and $830. Reuters described the knock-off as a giant iPhone, and Lin said future generations would look even more like the real thing.

“This is just the first rough version,” Lin said in Cantonese. “While the shape isn’t quite the same, the external appearance is very similar to the iPad, so we don’t think it will affect our sales that much.”

Shenzhen is notorious for being home to counterfeits of many products, such as iPhones, MacBooks and battery chargers. The New York Times in April 2009 wrote a report illustrating the impact of cellphone knock-offs capturing market share from the world’s biggest phone makers. Manufacturers have been urging the Chinese government to crack down on fake products while warning consumers about potential health hazards, such as exploding batteries.
