Ya'll left-coasters are crazy, I wouldn't live in a place where I have a chance of dying in a forest fire or being crushed by the building I'm in.

The only really bad natural disasters we have are the Carolina Hurricanes.
Blizzard?
...
Tbh, I'd rather take one earthquake every 20 some odd years with awesome weather over blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, dust storms, heat waves, flooding, and whatever else the rest of the country has to offer.
IDK!?
It's not like I go over there.
We also have to worry about Carolina Panthers. Dangerous motherfuckers.
mountain lions?
Meh, if its not like the northridge quake or the sylmar quake then its not really a big deal. Surprised though by the number of SFV bg folks though.
Maybe cuz im in sweet ass Ikebukuro headed to the station to Shinjuku >_>
I wasnt here for the northridge one so happy about that but very close to northridge (chatsworth) wasnt it the same size as the mexicali that happend today?
The reason why this quake wasn't as damaging as Haiti's even though it was entirely stronger, was because the most violent shaking was only felt by 500 people closest to the epicenter. The population density around the epicenter was not as high.
In Haiti, there were 2,300,000 people close to the violent shaking area near the epicenter, that's why there was 230,000+ dead people/ 1 million homeless people in Haiti. Only 140 people were injured and 2 people died as a result of yesterday's earthquake.
But yeah there have been like 200+ aftershocks already after this earthquake. Initial magnitude was 7.2 and epicenter was 7 to 10 kilometers below the surface of the earth. Strongest aftershocks were three 5.1 magnitude and a 5.4 magnitude quakes.
Two people died. One because a building collapsed on them, and the 2nd because they ran out of the building they were in...
...into the street...
...and got hit by a car.
Haven't they been saying that Cali was 50 years overdue for a big one?
Was that one it? Cuz if so then it was rather timid.
I'm going to assume you're not from California since your statement is incredibly stupid and quite ignorant. Anyone with half a fucking wit for a brain would know that California has been hit with some doozies in the past(Northridge, Sylmar, Landers etc.) Next time do some goddamn, fucking research before you begin typing.
Douche.
