all it really does is increase their utility in selected environments. the whole purpose of them is to make sure the class is relatively equal with other available classes, or in order to fill a perceived weakness that was unjustifiably reducing the quality of the players gameplay experience

Druids are getting magic dispel, shadow priests are losing disease dispel, ret paladins are losing magic dispel, shamans are losing disease and poison dispel in exchange for magic dispel.

Druids are getting curse, magic, and poison dispel all rolled into one instead of having to cast three separate spells.
