How are last names done? Like is it when you go to create your character you name both first and last, or is it like a quest you do to unlock it?

If its like quested, just don't do the quest or if its something you put in later just leave it blank but I have a feeling it doesn't work like that.

I played Guild Wars and we were required to have two names. I have also played several Shin Megami Tensei games, and those also make you come up with a first and last name (and hell, sometimes even a nickname), for your main protagonist, so I don't mind a two name system. I'll just need to come up with a last name I won't get tired of after awhile.
