SE should at least consider a nickname service:

It's not a terrible idea on paper, but ultimately I think it's going to be more of an inconvenience than anything.

I thought I read somewhere that they're working on some sort of short cut workaround for making us type two names all the time. Maybe you'll be able to tab to pull an autotranslater-like window, that's actually just a search box for the part of the name you've typed. Something like that might be a start, but I still wish you could choose to only have one name if you wanted.

Im not liking the idea but mostly cause I cant think of a good last name... Edgie venture... best I can think of, but people are gonna be like " haha cant you spell adventure"

I don't see how a tell with a space in the name would be any harder than some of the names that are in the game already - I am sure they will still have the ctrl+r for replies, so it's only the first time you have to send a tell that might be a little bit harder to do. And with Friends Lists, Link Shell (or whatever the equivalent will be) Lists, Area/Search Lists and Party/Alliance Lists you might not even have to type it all out.

I like the idea, just because I can have the same last name with my hubby - you know, once we figure out one we can agree on

Instead of the two name system just allow people to put one space in their name. People who want one can have one and people who want two can have two. Problem solved.

I don't know what to say about the two name system yet. I've played a few games which did one name and a few others that did two names. I did enjoy FFXI for having one name and no letters with symbols.

edit: Then again, I got my name with two a's because some mule took the name.
