I guess I DID miss it then. Still, its kinda stupid that the whole point is to stagger most targets, COM/COM/COM or not, everyone should beat down the staggered enemy/body part, regardless of the Para. On a unrelated note, fuck those turtles! I want to get all my traps before I evolve them. I'm like 1/80 or some such shit. Eghck....

Oh yea, wtf is up with Fang always starting to cast Slow on a downed turtle? Unless somebody here tells me it has some effect on how long it stays down, which I tried eyeballing and I didn't notice shit. Or Daze on a downed turtle, what's up with that?

One thing the AI is really good at is handling Lightning's SEN.

I was skeptical at first, but after seeing so much praise about her evasion tanking abilities I had to try it out.
Indeed, with the correct setup (Nimble boots are a must) she's an amazing SEN against anything that uses physical attacks only, since she barely gets hit.
It's not uncommon to see something ridicolous like 30 misses in a row.

Now what does this have to do with the AI? The reason is because no matter how fast you are, you can't manually input the commands quick enough to keep up on fast and dangerous mobs like Zirnitra, even with auto-battle, while the AI has no problems doing it.
In fact I recommend not to manual Light if you choose to use the evasion tanking method on Zir or anything else that matters.

The AI is sure as hell fine with me when I can't even pick/choose 5-6 abilities while hasted without wasting any ATB.

    This times 1000.

At least they still use haste first, thank God. It's usually the only thing I care about for most fights.

I would be able to just fight turtles straight up now with no TP use or anything if my fucking healers would top me off, but they leave me right at the range where I'll eventually get 1 shot when one gets a big number.

Try seeing if Protectra and Shellra help more when it comes to turtles and healers. I think they reduce damage to around 3-5k rather than 9k, the only thing you need to do is make sure you get Shellra up for Quake.

Iirc the guide said something like Shell being a 1.4 increase and shellra being 1.8, but lasting shorter. Same for Protect and Potectra. On lv5 roles that "shorter" doesn't matter for certain fights though. I never tried Protectra and Shellra on turtles actually, think they last about 2 mins on lv5 roles? No weapons enhancing duration. Protect and Shell being 5 mins?

Well, the only reason I would recommend -ra at this point would be that not everyone would have high level/max SEN rolls. -ra spells will last a good amount of time on turtles, enough to ground it and long enough to rape it on the ground. If it stands up again, you'd be better off reapplying buffs anyway for a second attack on the legs. But generally, you can finish off a turtle with one cast.

Dunno how much they help on Gui's, but every little might help?

I've got it worked out now, protectra everyone right off the bat and it's ezpz. Just have to be aware if something happens and it's going to take too long and get a quake cast, and get shellra up if so.

AI Medics really pissin me off. why does a single Cure spell have priority over Curaja or even esuna when curaja would completely top off all 3 of us, and 2/3 are inflicted with Stop?

2 are down to about 80% hp, I'm down to 75%. Instead of curaja which would bring is all pretty close to full, he single cures me into green hp then gets us killed by a turtle.

In many ways I prefer the gambit system of FFXII. I just hope they don't keep with the annoying recent trend of rolling out an international version that "fixes" many of the problems that the first versions have.

I can just imagine the international version having free-roaming run in fights, which would be amazing, enhanced AI, and even customizable AI tendencies when switching paradigms.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't have accessories that you could equip to change the AI habits in each paradigm. I would have loved to see later accessories that would stress certain types of buffs over others, or AOE heals over singles, or status effects over heals, ect.

Its a good system to start with but there's a lot of room for work.

I would buy the game again in a heart-beat if this were implemented with new missions and more bad-ass bosses. Shit would be awesome.

Presumably, because a single Cure still leaves enough ATB for two full Curaja's - the same as a full ATB (not counting having Ultimate Weapon). You can cure all day long and still have enough ATB to drop two huge AOE curebombs. If you're to Curaja early, and then get hit by a huge AOE, you're down quite substantial amounts of ATB and can only drop one Curaja right away. Two Curaja's at lower HP restore more total HP than a Curaja near full (based on HP lost) and another while at low HP.

I can only assume that's why it does that. I'd rather it Cura when people are at 80%, especially since Haste kinda makes one ATB bar negligible, but meh

I wanted the international version of FFX and FFXII - I'd get FFXIII if they continued the trend of making a great game even greater.

rav/rav com for legs then rav/rav/rav for stagger then com/rav/com (Light, Hope, Fang) to finish it.

Edit: Deprotect before the stagger to garuntee it won't get up.
