Only real answer.
I remember back when I was on the top floor of my dorm my roommate was a douche and kept leaving his stuff everywhere, even on my bed and desk. I kept asking him to move it, and he was like Nah it's cool you can move it. One day I just said fuck it and threw everything (minus electronics/expensive shit) out the window. It stopped after that.
and yeah, I know it's only loosely related
When I was moving out of my apartment last June (individual leases), my roommates left two house speakers they used to throw parties and shit with. They did a shit job on cleaning the apartment for inspection and left the speakers without directions for it. I sold it for $100 and moved out so the owners could inspect the apartment. A week later they asked what I did with the speakers. And apparently I did them wrong.
Oh well
It doesn't surprise me your chick is ugly. I suggest you stick the phallic objects in your ass, take pictures, and send them to your dean. The rest use to make abstract art for your local museum. Call it, "A Roommate's Lament." Then, tell them all of this, and since they're druggies, they'll probably just kill you.
Get what you can for the shit. If they want it later say you gave them 30 days, too bad.
Give their shit back and leave it at that. If you don't get your $120 back, boo-hoo. You'd have to be a retard to perpetuate something like that over $120.
I'm not sure about Canadian laws, but just give them a date to have it picked up by. If they can't pick it up by then, tell them it's being donated/sold/curbed.
Not your responsibility, but if you need the space and the people are generally acting like dirtbags, fuck em.
Your roommate sounds like mine when I had an apartment, cept the ones I had left about $2000 in repair bills!* cigarette burn marks in every room in the place, holes in the wall for cable from the neighbor... and other... stuff
You could find out where they live and leave the shit outside their apartment.
If you give them a hard deadline make sure you give a written notice. That may save you some heartache in the future. I wouldn't get rid of it until I was sure they got the hard date. It would just protect you.
On top of that, who the hell cares if you got a dog. It's your apartment, you can do whatever the hell you want. You're the one with a job... you can get a damn dog if you want. Just because they are broke minors doesn't mean they get to say shit about your expenditures.
Had the displeasure of a deadbeat roommate before, it blows. This guy had the heat bill under his name and me and my good roommate would give him the money every month for it. Our bad for trusting him with it as one day in mid November someone from the heat company came over to shut it off saying the bill hadn't been paid in almost a year and we owed $3,500 (on a side note nothing sucks more than losing heat in the beginning of winter in Buffalo). Needless to say he was promptly kicked out and thank god for the guys in the downstairs apartment who let us stay until we could resolve the issue.
Anyway to the point of the OP, we kept his stuff for a month and he never showed or called to get it. After that we just dropped everything off at a Salvation Army. He eventually showed up 3 months later to get it, we informed him where to go if he wanted to buy some of it back...
