Final Fantasy XIV Score Discussion

I'm a happy man hearing cuts from the OST. 3B makes me homesick for a game I haven't even played yet.

3A-C 18, and plenty of other tracks that just get my nerves tingling for...well, going on walkabout in a new virtual world again. I'm just starting to go through the music and it's clear to me there's places I'm going to be able to fall asleep in a safe spot like I used to in Zi'Tah or Rabao...not because it's boring, but because it's beautiful.

Some of it is really weird and sounds like it belongs in a Castlevania game but there are quite a few good ones.

My personal favorite is the battle theme from the boat/outside Limsa Lominsa. Not sure what the track name is as I renamed it ^^; It's the heavy-guitar one that kinda sounds like something out of Last Remnant (now that game had fucking bad ass music holy shit)

Perhaps it is the nerd in me who envisioned fighting something hard for the first time and having that track play.

Like how XI was back in the days of old, hard and usually epic the first time you did anything challenging.

I dunno, for me the song 0F represents what I want as a boss battle/final battle for the game. The battle themse are like Original FFXI really. Not really so memorable as they don't seem to get old, at least not that quickly. I'm betting the first expansion will have the better themes (like Zilart did).

Just listened to the battle and chocobo themes on Youtube. Both are pretty bad imo, and definitely more than a step backwards compared to FFXII and FFXIII.
They gave me the feeling Uematsu is still stuck 8 years behind in time. At least they're better than FFXI's ear-bleeding music.

This. XII and XIII soundtracks got some nice parts, but they're not as good as Nobuo's ones.

FFXII and FXIII's soundtrack were great. I mean, I don't remember any specific track aside the chocobo theme, and clash on the bridge, but I'm sure the rest was great.
