Ah ha! They have the deathadder in stock at my nearest bestbuy... since I've tried the lachesis and the deathadder and mamba are similar in shape thats probably the best one to get my hands on.

Hopefully they have a g500 too, although, I'm sure it's similar to one of my G5's.

Well as an update, I went to my bestbuy cause they had a adder in stock, turned out they also had a Mamba, G500, Mx518, Lachesis, and the MXPro or whatever.

I liked the ergonomics of the Deathadder/mamba over the lachesis, so I grabbed the mamba to try it out. So far so good, but I never liked wireless mice in the past. This one is way higher quality but I'm going to test drive it for a week or 2 and if I don't like it return it for the deathadder or g500.

Be sure to install the proper razer mamba drivers and get its firmware updated if it isnt.

Also, via the driver software, disable mouse acceleration

Ive been using a Razer Deatheradder for years and by far the most comfortable mouse Ive ever had.

also got a razer naga when it came out it was amazing for aion but kinda worthless for FFXI since I prefer using a keyboard only for events or controller for running around.

if you want an all around good mouse that will never let you down and is comfortable go with the deathadder.

if you want something to give you an edge in some MMO's get the naga.I say some since it basically just uses the buttons on the side as 1,2,3,... 0,-,= keys and that is what most MMO's use i guess and from a pic ive seen FFXIV as well it looks like so ganna be good there too. While the naga gives an edge its not all that comfortable so theres the trade off.

Yeah first thing I did was download the driver, then download the firmware update to like 1.13 or whatever it is.

Had to leave for class and work after I did that so didn't get to mess with too many settings yet other than making a 2000dpi setting (my old favorite) though we'll see how I like the higher dpi's in battlefield.

I actually use a low DPI in FPS (around 800 with a low sensitivity of around 1)

I slowly adjusted to a lower dpi/sensitivity to help me control accuracy and gun recoil. I used the Razer Goliathus mouse pad (the largest one) and use most of the pad for turning.

You talking BC2 btw? if so, add me on steam/ea online. Steam is fps_shiarua, ea online is shiarua.

Yeah BC2, think I'm Boyiee on steam, in game name is:

    .vile

The lower dpi for recoil isn't a bad idea when using some spray and prey guns, but I've been playing at 2000dpi for a while and have been getting a ton of no-scope m24 kills lately at close-medium range... so I'm fucking DYING to try a bit higher dpi even lol. Spinning around slow is the worst, especially when in a tank.

I use a Rocketfish aluminum mouse pad, but I think I'm going to grab some Ratpadz. They come HIGHLY recommended, and they are 5$ less then listed right now (gs is 10$ the XT is $20) select add to cart and they will show the real price. I really suggest these for everyone. http://www.ratpadz.com/index.php

Ok so for any Mamba users here, If I don't touch it for a few seconds the lights on it turn off - does that mean it's not consuming battery? If I put it on the charger, and put my computer to sleep, how the fuck will it charge lol? So far by the way, I'm loving it. It glides so effortlessly across my aluminum mouse pad, so sick.

I switched from a hard gaming surface (Ive used the Razer eXactmat, Steelseries SX, and the Razer Destructor) to a cloth mat (Razer Goliathus) mainly because the teflon feet wear down on the mice really quick from lots of use.

As for the lights going off: Its more of a Standby thing. The mouse is still on, but in a low power state waiting for input. As for putting your computer to sleep, yes it will still charge. This is because the dock still gets power through USB while the computer is off/asleep. Your computer isnt completely off even if you have it shut down. The power must be either physically disconnected or the power switch on the PSU turned off.

I'm pretty sure the no lights is the mouse going into power saving mode. Still burns a little battery though. If you aren't getting usb power you wont be charging =(. You could buy a powered usb hub. That way your mouse would still be getting power even with your pc off I think. I'm not sure if latency would come into play through a hub though.

I had an exactmat mouse pad but my mamba had issues with tracking on it. I bought a white razer destructor and everything has been great since then.

I like the idea of using a softer surface so there is less wear and tear on the mouse, but I'm just so used to a hard surface I don't really know.

Between ratpadz, and the 2 razer ones you mentioned, I wouldn't even know. Price-wise ratpadz wins lol, it's also praised on [h]ardforums.

Apparently white mouse pads are the way to go with the mamba, and the destructor seems to pair up nicely with it regardless, so I went with that. I have become a fan of hard mouse pads, if my feet wear out I can easily replace them, not a big deal.
