It would seem that you are retarded, though, as that's the entire purpose of the AA/AF numbers. Playing the respective games at their max settings. How is that not relevant, exactly? If that for some reason bothers you (because the gap between the two cards gets wider, perhaps?), then feel free to look at the left side only.. as the settings there are EXACTLY the same from game to game.
No, they're not. God damn it you really are retarded. Those sites all ran benchmarks at multiple resolutions with different amounts of AA/AF. A good amount of them didn't run the max possible settings. What that chart is saying is that it only took the highest AA/AF graph for every game from the sites.

And if you'll notice, the results are the same regardless. Not sure why you're still bitching.
Hey, retard, stop being retarded. How about you go a few posts up and find where I showed they're not the same. If you actually go to the websites that ran the benchmarks you'll see that the 5850 beats the 470 in a decent amount of testing situations. You're fairy tale chart cherry picked the situations where the 470 won so they could trick idiots; which would be you.

    Yes, exactly.

I am a fairy tale chart?

They have the standard 0AA/0AF benches for the resolution, then they have the max settings for the resolution. That's not cherry picking.. in fact, its the opposite. Thats providing both the minimum+maximum tested settings for a resolution.

You've turned this thread into a humongous umad, enough already.

Why are you two comparing the 5850 and 470? They are at two different price points.

The 5850 can be found for $279.99

The 470 can be found as low as $340.77

That's a 18% price difference of course the ATI card is going to perform slightly slower.

The pricepoint doesn't mean as much as the fact that those two cards are in direct competition. And while the GTX470 may be a slightly faster card in about half the available testing, that much of a price difference makes the 5850 a MUCH better value. The same can be said for the GTX480 and 5870.

They're sort of have to be comparable, only because of the gap in price between the next tier of cards. Wasn't me trying to make the comparison though, all I did was state how much faster the 470 was and for what price they were currently on Newegg and dude got umad. Being a 5850 owner, I guess it was too much for him to handle.

At $279, the 5850 would absolutely be the better value.. keeping in mind that we're talking about a whole 20 dollar difference here. However, Neweggs cheapest source is $299, and I wasn't able to find a source that had the card in stock for cheaper. And at those prices it gets more into the gray area. Which is why my original statement contained nothing more than the current prices + performance ballpark.. so people can look at the numbers and make their own decision.

I don't know why I even responded for this long. Looking back at page 1 this was a 285 vs 470 discussion, to which the fanboy replied '5850'. Should've known better right there.

    My god you're retarded.

No, they don't. There are 107 games listed, and only 14 0AA/0AF benches for the 5850.

That's not cherry picking.. in fact, its the opposite. Thats providing both the minimum+maximum tested settings for a resolution.
Except they didn't, which you didn't notice because you're retarded. Tell me I'mmad all you want, tell me I'm a radeon fanboy because I own a 5850 all I want. You're the one who's been displaying how you can't read or understand shit in every post you make about the subject.

At $279, the 5850 would absolutely be the better value..
    Orly?

Maybe because as you've just admitted, it's absolutely the better value.

That's a good buy then Deadgye, the price shows 299 for me now when I look though. Still not sure why you're so mad about the 470 being faster.

[edit] Actually, $314.99 for the model you ordered: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-884-_-Product In which case, it wouldn't currently be a better value. I don't know why you would expect me to have a time machine and be able to see the prices from your order almost a month ago.

I just wanted to take a moment to state that newegg isn't the only place in the world to buy things, nor are they often the cheapest.

Course not, but its not like they're 'Al's Backyard Bargain Bin' either. I just went there and made a 30 second comparison because the guy asked. At the time I saw all $349 for the 470s, and 300-325 for the 5850.. so that's what I posted.

Didn't realize it would go under such intense scrutiny for the possibility of a 20 dollar sale, it was just a ballpark.

So you just ignored me because my posts scare you so much that you can't possibly view them face on? You have to build up the mental fortitude just so you can click View-Post?

I mean, you made a big deal "Wah Wah, you hurt me so now I'm ignoring you" before, but you still obviously read my posts...just after you hover your mouse point for 10 seconds wondering whether you really can handle it?

Dude, you just made my day.

The GTX 470 and 480 are not that good to warrant a purchase at the moment, I would expect prices to fall on these before ATI cards. Don't get me wrong you would get great performance and a decent price from them, after all 650w+ power supplies gotta be used on something....

lol, You can't just take one look and think that's that. :3 I've been following the current gen video cards since january. I was able to build my current rig only because I waited for deals to pop up. I had to say something because your numbers were, from what I've seen, off enough to warrant an argument. That's not to say arguing isn't fun though.

The ATI 5870 has 2 DVI and an HDMI. Does that mean I can have 3 monitors hooked up at once?
