They need to fix weakness/resistances in this generation.
Ice only resisting itself, Dragon annhilating everything but Steel thanks to Outrage and Draco Meteor being overpowered, Poison being effective only against lolgrass and Stealth Rock decimating half of the pokemons got really annoying.

I dunno. I just now got a DS/Soul Silver and am, if anything, gaining interest..mainly because I wanna fuck with metagaming.

Also, dunno..but that looks shop-ish. The one on the left has a head that resembles Cyndaquil..at least to me. Am I the only one who sees it?

The other two look lol. The one on the right reminds me of an animal from the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" tv-show.. something they named in a Season 2 episode "Foofoo Cuddlypoof" or something like that.

they do, but the only reason i give it any sort of validity is that the silhouettes were released yesterday around the same time, so i dunno, plus it's monday in japan which means something about video games on a weekly basis, famicom or something? i dunno

i just hate the fact that since gen 1, all of the games have been, on the macro level, the exact same fucking thing i understand that for gen1 a grid system was the way to go, possibly even for gen 2, but getting into like gen 3/4 they should have updated at least something, they haven't updated anything except for graphics really, and the different areas of the game (trading, battling, open world, the boxes) were all designed by completely different teams and look like shit compared to each other, it's like they didn't even try to give it any sort of uniform look or functionality, plus there's like 500 legendaries now, gen1 was done the best and shall remain the best (in my opinion), and the rest of the gens just seem to mesh together nowadays

Stealth Rock is the biggest kick in the junk in Gen IV. Adjusting the move's damage would help, but we aren't going to see resistance changes unless there's new types put in.

Now, what do I expect to see?

More Dark and Dragon types are going to show up in this one. At least one of them will eat half the viable Pokemon in VS battles unless it's bansticked, ala Smogon tiers.

The Water and Grass starters will be crap. Again. Fire starter may be viable.

We will have yet another generic normal type only good for HM slavery that shows up right next to the starting area. It will look even stupider than Bidoof.

I expect the pokemon to look more and more ridiculous. Starters don't look promising.

I thought they'd stop releasing new pokemon with the super-legendary of this gen being the god of pokemon.

And for the love of god hope they delete stealth rock or nerf the hell out of it. Kind of dumb, imo, how stealth rock has become the center of competitive battling; could probably ctrl + f stealth rocks on every pokemon's page on smogen.

Lobbies for battling randoms on WiFi would be super, too.

Empoleon can sweep too, and Swampert is and always has been a beast. The only starters that've been universally useless are the grass ones, with the exception of maybe Sceptile, but even with him his movepool is too shallow to support any higher competitive play.

I beg to differ good sir (sir? the internet does not have touchy-feely boobs... always) Venusaur is an awesome UU pokemon- I got away with using him before I got my Roserade for a good while. Feraligator is a beast too for a starter. He was a piece of shit until Gen IV, but now he's like a mini Gyarados, only not as awesome looking.
