For some reason, 2vs2 doesn't do it for me either, but 3vs/rotation battles are fucking awesome.
Free lucky egg = don't complain. Later in the game, you'll understand why.

Personally, I think one of the reasons 2v2 sucked was because there were really no elements of it to make it more interesting than regular fights. Helping hand, Plus and Minus, etc, just didn't really provide enough differences to make it interesting in the least. They've added enough stuff this generation to make them interesting, but you're right, to each their own. There's no way I'm abandoning 1v1 either, but it's nice to have some changes every now and then.
Are there any good places to level to 70+ that doesn't involve spamming the E4? I'm thinking of adding a Hydregion to the squad, but his final evo not happening until 64 makes me not want to do it. Also.....will I actually get to use him ingame all that much anyways? Haven't really looked into how much stuff there is to do post-E4.
Eh, maybe? I don't know that you'd really find it a worthwhile investment of time unless you're planning to raise one to go against other people. As for the leveling thing, not really. Toss on a lucky egg or an EXP share, fight some wilds on the east half of the map, fight in the sports arenas, ride the royal unova and grind the E4. That's about the best choices in terms of EXP.
The wild pokemon and trainers after the game are nuts. Level 50 Kakuna's and shit.
Anyone wanna get on right now and gimme a Reuni?
I've been playing White on an emulator and I'm loving it. The last one I played was Ruby, so I guess skipping Gen IV made it that much more fresh for me. As stated before, the small tweaks and features makes it more enjoyable.
Slightly off topic: Can you use a rom (R4 card, ect) to play on WiFi, or do you need an original copy? I'm stuck with a scratched-to-hell NDS, so if an original game is required to enjoy WiFi I'll have to pick up a copy of White before whatever deals expire.
Slightly more on topic: What are the best deals for the game? The only ones I'm seeing are Amazon's $10 credit, Toys 'r Us/Wal Mart's Stylus pack thing, and a couple BOGO Half-off at Toys/K Mart.
You can play on Wifi with a R4. It was even briefly possible to play on Wifi using one of the PC emulators, but it's imperfect so Nintendo was able to tell and blocked it.
Just beat the game. I had no pokemon above 50 for the Elite Four and I did a dry run. Fucking destroyed them all lol, and I only had 4 pokemon (2 not at full health) for the final fight.
I lost to Ghestis twice because of that gay ass Dragon he has on his team. Shit was ridiculous; was one-shotting things left and right. So I got a few of my team to lv50 and got a lucky Paralyze proc on it and took it down.
Then he used an eel-looking thing that had Flamethrower. -_-
Eventually beat Ghestis, but man wtf he threw several curveballs. :/
Post-game caught me off guard too; first trainer I run into on Route 11 whips out a lv 64 Croagunk wtf?
On 8th badge and want a 6th but no idea who to go for.

Thinking about the candle fucker, but not sure.
Headed towards the 7th gym now. My team's been switching a little throughout the game, quite a bit of pokemon have surprised me.
Current team:
Emboar(Finally starting to pull his weight when he got close to evolving)
Galvantula(oh god <3 my new favorite bug type)
Sigilyph(Was originally just a Fly whore, but has come through in the worst situations and saved my team more than once)
Carracosta(Was just plain good ever since I revived him, Aqua Jet ftw)
Krokorok(Was a great help at first, is falling to the wayside atm, might end up boxing him when he evolves if he keeps fainting)
Sawsbuck/Scolopede/Simisage/Various(Usually keep it open, but man, Sawsbuck is dominating right now)
I want to level one of those Buffalos and that Polar Bear thing, but I really don't know who to switch out for 'em. Same goes for the little Eaglet pokemon. lol
Is it just me or was takedown from that stupid dog pokemon in the beginning just overpowered? Shit was ohkoing like everything
Pssh, Ixion. Kirin is the way to go. No, not the FFXI Kirin.
