You don't get the fishing rod till postgame and the other water types in B/W suck so yeah it's either Samurott or a deadweight Surf slave.
I picked it and it was pretty decent since it has pretty good coverage with water, ice, bug, fighting and dark moves.
Since it's autumn right now in-game rain is very common so Razor Shell/Surf easily OHKO stuff.

Just caught Kyurem and wiped the floor at the second round of the pokemon league with it lol, my highest level pokemon until this point was level 55 Zekrom.
Conveniently located Ice Beam TM in the Giant Chasm made it even easier, this thing is overpowered.

For those who don't like grinding but want to get through the game easily: get a Ferroseed in the Chargestone Cave. This thing never dies and its Iron Barbs ability is so good. It has insane defenses, good attack, non-existant speed, Curse and Gyro Ball as soon as you capture it which is a terrifying offensive and defensive combo.
Once it evolves and learns Power Whip you can pretty much solo anything without fire and fighting attacks that are 15 levels above you. Even if you're not dealing good damage you can just spam potions while the opponent kills itself with Iron Barbs (if it's using contact moves that is).
I used to hate slow, defensive pokemon in-game but this thing made me change my mind.

Had no trouble finding ROMs, but finding a patche to fix the random freezes is a bit of a pain. If anyone else is using an emulator, mind sharing where you got a freeze patch from?

EDIT: Switched to desmume from no$gba and tweaked some settings to make it run at normal speed. Using the exp code but nothing else. Gonna see if it plays through without crashes tonight. Doesn't crash on saves which is good.

Get a Cover Fossil for Tirotuga->Carracosta, it's a fucking boss. Starts with Crunch at level 25(!) and a priority STAB water move. Once you get Shell Smash, things just die, and it has plenty of bulk and resistances to take most non-grass hits, especially if you're running a Solid Rock version.

Also, echoing the awesomeness of Ferroseed, though it kind of sucks you have to wait till post game to breed Spikes+Stealth Rock onto it, since it requires National Dex 'mons. I'm pretty much holding off on using one till then just cause of that.

Don't even need to go that far into the game, Pig stops being good as soon as you can get a Darumaka. After that, Hustle Fire Punch (or Sheer Force Flare Blitz at 35) just shits all over anything and everything the pig can do.

Oh right forgot about Tritouga. I got Archen though since I started with Oshawott. Low defenses and bad ability but it's a beast.

Why would you even think of running Spikes+SR on Ferrothorn? He's much better suited to just spikes, and it's really not worth giving up Leech Seed or either of his STABs for it. If you really need an SR user you're better off getting a different poke for it.

Honestly, SR isn't even a must have type of thing anymore, it's nowhere near as much of a necessity as it was last gen. A full set of Ferrothorn's spikes and a good spin blocker should be more than enough in the entry hazard department.

I never understood using legendaries for anything, I rather use the regular pokes for main game and for battling, seems like a easy way to just go through the game quickly

I told yall niggas about Ferrothorn, nigga is STRAIGHT UP LEGIT, Iron barbs + Rocky Helmet + Leech seed + Curse = Grab a Snickers nigga you aint going NO WHERE

Ferrothorn is fucking awesome, but for some reason it reminds me of those tall spindly walkers in Promyvion.

Meh, I just see legendaries as a reward for reaching the late parts of the game and catching them, so why not enjoy them for in-game stuff if I have the chance.
Plus you're not allowed to use ubers for the stuff that matters anyway (re: Battle subway) so things aren't that unbalanced.
Most of B/W legendaries aren't even that good compared to the previous generations anyway, not to mention many B/W non-legendaries are ridiculously OP.

True but I still felt they were overpowered for main story questing, even when capturing Rehairm I killed him with Ferrothron because he kept physically attacking me and he killed himself and when I did catch him I didn't even want to use him.

I always just used the pokemon I liked through the story. It's really easy, no need to make it even easier using legendaries.
