Also, is it just me or is Serperior overall kinda meh. I originally got him because he was the coolest looking of this gens trio, but his subpar attack stats are making me want to replace him even though he was my starter x.x

It's currently impossible to get the good Serperior. When Dream world comes out we get access to the ones with contrary which makes Serperior the best grass starter ever. Basically it reverses any stat changes making it so leaf storm becomes a 140 dmg stab that increases SP atk by 2.

Well, I think I'm gonna start putting together an FC list and stuff for the first post, maybe a mini-FAQ with some sites, tips, etc, to help people get started and whatnot. With the Global Link site going up and going live on the 30th, I figure I'll toss everything up and together by the 28th and have Aki edit the first post. That way people will have time to get 3DS's if they're getting them, update FCs, etc.

More people registered on your Pal Pad connects you to their dream world islands when you sync, etc, etc. If people want to start PMing me FCs, I'll start putting lists and information together. To repeat, if you want on the list, don't post in the thread and just say "add me". Not gonna deal with that shit, just PM me so I have them all in one place. So yeah, let's get the ball rolling on this shit so we can maximize our usages of the dream world when it gets turned on.

Holy shit, hadn't even considered that, I was planning to use Serp as a wall/support type. It's already the fastest grass pokemon in the game, isn't it? I know it's faster than Jumpluff, at least. Adding a STAB 140 damage attack that doubles in power after the first use... Seems like it could easily sweep a team with a choice scarf unless you have a very specific counter to it.

Serperior is a scrub, sorry. Even with perversity. His majestic base special attack of 75 isn't going to be sweeping anything with a Choice Scarf, not until you've boosted him to +4, and you're still gonna get raped by one of any number of common Flying/Ice/Bug/Fire attacks long before that happens. The only other option would be a Life Orb, and frankly with that he's more likely to get outsped and crushed before he ever hits +4, much less +2 and getting off another Leaf Storm with the buff up.

He's not SubPetaya Empoleon. He's not just going to strongarm his way through everything after a +2 (probably not even at +4), and that's where Serperior loses. Even if you could get him buffed up, and not phazed out or crushed by a stronger attack from something 4x resistant to grass (fairly common), he has no other reliable special type moves or STABs to fall back on for coverage.

as it goes this years line up of starters is terrible for longevity Emboar is fire/fighting (so that's 3/5 fire starters that are fire/fighting)
Sevi is just grass (so thats 2/5 starters)
and Samm is just water

my top three starters have to be Charizard (he's a dragon idc)
Swampert (yes i know grass types just kick him to the curb)
and Torterra (mostly due to its really different second typing)

but only thing i really noticed alot about in black and white is how many pokémon are actually dark types

my Emboar is on rods he has 189 attack at 54 but 93 speed haven't given him anything just leveling

i'm just finding it hard to even want to play this game after beating the Elite 4 last week

Yeah, I definitely overesitmated Leaf Storm's power off of Serp's pretty mediocre special attack. Played around with it online, and it gets walled off really hard by basically any steel type, even after a few turns to charge.

So whats the deal with the ship, everytime I go to it it says come back in the evening even though its obviously night and the street lamps are on. I've tried like 30+ times now coming back at different times of the day and it keeps saying that.

Check out Serebii's B/W section for the Daily/Weekly events. You can only go at certain times. Like 16:59 to 18:59 or so.
