I dont care what you set met at too
lolpokesav.
question: I thought giving parents the power bracer/weight/etc. guarranteed that you got to keep that parent's IV in the stat connected to that item? I've been trying to make some scythers and have HP/atk items on the parents, but for some reason whenever I manage to breed an adamant one, the atk IV of the baby isn't connected to the parent's. if it's not guarranteed, I feel like doing the everstone thing would be more effective <.<
btw, I'm breeding my Tornadus with ditto if anyone wants some
The last part of your question (or rather the comment you tacked onto the last part), you can put an everstone say on a ditto (adamant in this case) and the power item on the actual pokemon with the IV you want to pass down, (or you can reverse it, if the reverse is your case) both of the pokemon can hold items and they have a chance of passing them down. Only problem is, of course, getting both to pass down onto a single poke.
Literally re-asked this question last night myself, but to paraphrase it's a crapshoot if the IV's and nature are passed down at the same time, it's still not THAT bad however, maybe at worst one out of ten babies? Could be better or worse from that point, but at least you get the idea.
Unless something changed in Gen V, nothing should prevent the IV from passing down 100% of the time with a power item. Nature is, as always, a crapshoot even with 50%, but if one parent is holding an IV item it should always pass down. Unless the game is somehow managing to pass down the forced IV of the one parent and getting the same IV from the other parent, and it's canceling the inherited one out with a random roll between that? That shouldn't happen though, unless there's been some major changes to the system.
Edit: I didn't even notice you mentioned dual IV items, it won't transfer both at the same time, my bad. One or the other.
I'm going to pick up white version in a bit. Is the new silver/gold better? I haven't really looked into this game at all, does it allow access back to old areas?
White/Black don't allow access to older areas, no.. but HGSS does. I'd still say B/W is better, though HGSS does some of the shit better.
Pretty much this. Overall, B/W is the better game, but there's a couple points that Nintendo kind of stumbled and fell face first on, mainly the whole idea of making a ton of content short range IR reliant instead of some of the more robust (albeit mostly worthless) shit HG/SS did.
Ah I see. I'm probably just going to download it and play around, not do crazy breeding or transferring of shit anyway.
White is a lot easier than HG/SS honestly, you can faceroll all the gyms and the main story line with 1 pokemon. I started playing SS again now that I'm done with white and it is a lot harder.
Are you really suggesting that the idea of picking one starter, fighting with nothing but it, and then facerolling the entire game by virtue of outleveling everything is somehow new or hasn't been possible in every single pokemon game from Red/Blue/Green and onwards? If so, loooooooooool
I'm not so sure about that, without an exorbitant amount of grinding the first two gyms could be difficult, considering the lack of options for good starting pokemon. There's no real clear advantage, since the monkeys suck without additional grinding and you don't even get super effective STAB on your starter for them.
Anything that you grind 10+ levels above is going to seem easy. Playing around the level of the opponents makes it more interesting to me at least.
Who said anything about grinding?
The bigger the difference in levels, the more exponential the difference in your powers. If you used only one pokemon and made it much higher level than everything else you faced it'd be a lot easier than having 6 pokemons of the same levels as your opponents.
