Maybe concepts was the wrong word to use there. If they already have the basic formula down (which they do), why not just go the extra mile and make a shit-ton of cash? I mean, they probably already have a engine made somewhere from the recent stadium game for the wii. I mean, it can't be too hard to make a new game considering HG and SS were just released, and now we're hearing about brand new games.

Don't get me wrong, I love the games as they are right now. I'd have one of the new remakes bought already if I had the cash. It's just a little sad to see so much potential being put into the same thing each time.

See, what I never understood is that, if they're so content with making new pokemon games on the gameboy, DS, and now the new DS....why not expand their market in the process?

Think about it, all new pokemon games are pretty much nowadays rehashes of the old gameboy games, the new ones being R/S/E and P/D/P. Why not make a rehash on an actual "next gen" system that nintendo owns...now what was it called again? oh yea! The Wii.

We already have pokemon stadiums and whatnot, and I was always pissed when I realized that the stadium games were only about battles and such. Just make a remake of an old game (since nintendo seems to love to do this) in 3d on your goddamn system . Keep the stats, keep the formulas, add a couple lame ass voice actors, put in the cut scenes for legendary encounters/gyms/other things, and BAM. Congrats nintendo, you just made something that millions will buy and probably have been waiting for. Screw the MMO idea. (has nintendo even done a MMO ever? I was under the impression of no)

I don't know if you're aware of this, but the Wii fucking sucks, bro. The DS is INSANELY popular. I'm a pokemon master, but if a pokemon generation came out on the wii, I wouldn't even play it. Said games would likely sell no where near as much as they do for Nintendo's handhelds, and you're pretty naive if you believe otherwise. The only possible pokemon related game I would even touch on a console would be Pokemon Snap 2: Still Snapping.

If you don't like the pokemon games, then don't buy them. I've seen great improvements in Pokemon games all the way up to the 4th gen and the recent release of HG/SS, and I expect the 5th generation will continue the trend of greatly improving upon the series. Yes, that is exciting.

I know, right? This would be way better than a Pokemon MMO. You could compare snapshots with friends and strive to get better pics than everyone else. Maybe add unlockable cameras with varying lenses for things like night time picture taking, panoramic, higher quality etc. Maybe unlock different types of vehicles and airplanes for different points of view.

Why haven't they done this already?????

Post RBY, you get a good deal of expansion. Psychic no longer rules everything, attack moves can be Attack or Special Attack-based regardless of type, and the various abilities, weather effects, and field effects can make life interesting.

But it's still simple enough to play without seriously investing your life in. Though it may suck it in. Gotta catch em all, still.

If SE could make FFIV DS full 3d, with cinematic cutscenes that had full voice-acting (not to mention a decent length dual-screen FMV intro segment), I'm pretty damn sure GameFreak could fit 500 short voice clips onto a DS cart full of basic 3d terrain with 2d sprites everywhere,
