Championship rules are

only 2 legendary
only 1 of each Pokemon
no pokesav! (normally there #1 rule)
and all entries must be subscribed 24 hours before the tournament to get a full list sorted (normally you have to enter a roster of 6 pokemon with items + full list of attacks but that's not so fun on a forum)
if you can think of anything else that would seem worthwhile stick it in rokku

Depends on how people want to play it. I know personally I've got an all Gen V team at the moment that I was keen on trying against other full Gen V teams. There's a lot of mixed opinions/variance on legendaries though, so I'd almost say omit them entirely.

Edit:

All Gen V, no legendaries, no duplicates, ubers/banned unallowed would put everyone on equal footing for the purposes of a BG tourney. Would encourage more people to get involved too.

People would need time to organize and train stuff anyhow, so it's not going to be anything done in short order anyhow. And for the interest of fairness, I'm gonna say if it goes down we're going to have a no disclosure policy on everyone's teams. Keeps things fair, and the last thing I want to hear is someone trained something to combat person x in the next match they were in as a hard counter to something they shouldn't have known about, etc etc.

Also, all gen five is easier because not everyone has access to a second DS and the Poketransfer. Just makes things overall more copacetic.

And would the level cap be 50 or 100? I have no idea how you can change it to 100 in the rules, cause it seems to only take 50 or uncapped(whatever levels your 'mons are).

Species, Sleep, Freeze, OHKO, Evasion, Self-KO, yeah. Not going to force people into only one of each item though unless there's some kind of outcry, there's not a huge huge variety of items that're commonly acceptable for gen V pokes.

Though we may have to say something about items if someone is thinking of running like.. 6 life orb sweepers, though I'd highly discourage a strategy like that anyhow.

That's on the battle subway. Can take multiples into regular WiFi matches. If you do randoms with the far right elevator though it'll enforce Subway rules.

Probably because there's far too many people more along the lines of casual players or people that're unaccustomed to things like Smogon rules, so it's kind of pointless to try and rope a bunch of people still learning the ropes into full OU ruleset slugfests.

As an addition, I say only gen V for the simple reason that Nintendo made it overly painful to get older gen pokes into B/W legitimately, so I think it's setting people up to fail if they're limited to 1 generation with a couple toss in's from the east half of the map, versus people capable of using some of the old staples and pokemon that still serve as some of the major competitive threats (sandstormed Garchomp, etc).

That's really odd because I was using the door on the middle in the Pokemon Center when I did my WiFi fight last night and I specifically remember having to go out and take off an extra Life Orb I had on before I could battle.
