Eh, if you scarf a Darmanitan, not a lot can survive his Flare Blitzes, really. He's beastly, though Volcorona is nice too with a good build.

That's not to say you should completely avoid using recoil attacks in general. Not using a physical attack just because you'll take damage from Ferrothorn is silly, plus why would a Ferrothorn stay in on a Darmanitan in general? lol. Unless they're stupid.

First, if a setup/tank sort of poke is using Rocky Helmet.. even if it adds on extra damage, it's doing it wrong. Secondly, yeah, your darmanitan may take 60% damage, but that certain setup poke will be dead as fuck.

So yeah. If a Ferrothorn sits out there to take it, thinking 'herpderp, gonna do damage to Darminatan without actually attacking, yes!" and not actually get the fuck out and wait for an opportune time to setup.. then the player controlling said Ferrothorn is stupid.

Exactly, which is what makes Darmanitan such a beast. The fact that you have to sacrifice a poke so you can free switch into a revenge killer, and can't just swap into something to take reduced damage/move on from there.

I wouldn't discount jellicent as being a poor water type. It's pretty good actually.

had a quick 3 on 3 online match last night i used Haxorus Scolipide and Ferrathorne
The "HITMAN" Used Glalie Darmanitan and Conkeldurr

Round one Haxorus vs Glalie

i'm faster and use Outrage outrage 1 shots Glalie dispite been strong against dragon moves

Round two he swaps in Darmanitan i get a second outrage off before been confused Darmanitan uses fire blitz taking his own hp from 15% to 5%

round 3 i swap in my Scoliopide and take a hammer arm giving darmanitan poision and killing him off

round 4 Conkeldurr is now in play i use toxic he use's hammer arm i take about 30 damage

round 5 i use Venoshock he takes about 60% damage he use's hammer arm again

round 6 killed him off with venoshock

first win first game and i also caught a shiny Minccino just before the fight so i had a good night last night

Ice pokemon take normal damage from dragon attacks. And lolGlalie. Grats on the win and shiny though. I'm all EV trained out ATM. Think I'll start doing random match ups and see how my two teams work out. If anyone here wants to do a 6v6 say the word~

Not sure, but sadly there's no 6 on 6's anymore since levels won't scale to 50 or 100. Have to go Flat Battle rules.

But yeah... lolGlalie. That's really fucking random. Don't see many of those; normally see more Frosslass than Glalie as far as the Snorunt line goes. Also not sure why the guy went with Hammer Arm over Flare Blitz when he had like 5% life. He was dead as fuck as it is.. may as well go out with a bang.

i'd presume he'd have hoped for me to carry on with my confused Haxorus and slowly kill myself instead so it would be 2 v 2 at the time but got to love poison point :3

Yeeeeah, no, I would have still Flare Blitzed because you'd do more damage with Flare Blitz than you would with Hammer Arm due to the STAB and all that. Not to mention he had 5% or so health, lol. No sense risking it.

I know I'm gonna sound repetitive here but do most people just EV train a pokemon and not level it to 100 since the game will scale it for you?

Yeah. Most people who play legitly (ie without AR Codes or shit) will just let the game scale you to 50 or 100 for online battles, but now that they took away the 'auto level to 100' for 6 on 6 battles.. you have to deal with going Flat Battle, which is 3 on 3 with level 50 pokes and other restrictions. Shitsux.

But yeah, EV train/evolve/level to whatever level you need to for it's moveset and all.

What do you guys think of using Evolite cottonee over Whimsicot?

It's been thought of for a bit. Evolite Tangela with Regenerate is also a nice choice for a physical tank if you go that sort of route.
