Gimp/Confused/WTF Player Thread XVIII: Why the Fuck Are You Meleeing?

I casted stun a few times when I was DRK, no rage mode. dunno. maybe it's a random chance to go rage.

Done the same on BLM (all I had at the time), no rage. Was the WHM queen, as I mentioned the last time this came up. I used Stun to claim then simply maintained Blink and Stoneskin until the other queen was dead and the melee could take over. Only time I've ever seen one rage (RDM king), the following things happened that we never again did:

NIN/DNC holding the king used Desperate Flourish
A Fragmentation skillchain went off on the king cardian (Yuki-Gekko or w/e)

Re: RR. I do this quite often with me and a friend, each dual boxing. We cast stun and diaga, using rdm/nin, dualboxed, to hold the two queens while we kill the blm King with drk and samurai, with dualboxed whm cures. Normally works fine, but we've had one run out of maybe 12 where they just went apeshit and wiped the floor with us. Gonna go with "it's random as hell" for 5 points please, Bob. In dyna atm so skipped over most of the posts, was just /foruming between pulls.

Idk, in my opinion there is a certain trigger. I really don't think SE would make people not use magic at all against these guys. It just bothers me a lot to hear people preach how you can't cast a single spell or you wipe the entire group.

I was seeking on Quetz last night, and got 2 invites. The first was all-JP MMM, except they had no clue what they were doing, no voke and no refresh or support. The second was a lvl37 E Ronf[S] party, except they didn't realize the zone was full until I told them, and then they decided to travel to camp via AIRSHIP.

Midgar sure had its gimps, but Quetz seems to have a thriving population of its own. The combination of the two has generated a perfect storm of fail.

A word of warning. NEVER invite jp to party unless you want to take a risk outside of a few of them. They still think /nin is the shit and most of em are gimp nowadays. Not as bad as the midgard crap i've been seeing but midgard so far is a "special" server.

@yubar I dont kick people as often as you probably think i do. I usually reserve it for the ridiculously bad ones (eg that sam with relic hat ronin and dex+3 ring etc etc at 75) since after finding one gimp after getting to camp i'm too worried that the next person I replace em with could be even worse since i cant /check em beforehand. I'm willing to overlook a few slots if it appears they know what they're doing but didn't get the drop yet albeit after i grab the Usukane polearm Sam. Gimps do irritate me though since i generally parse all my parties and if when i outparse some random mnk war drg or whatever on something I want to say to myself " I can outparse black belt mnks on thf at mamool ja." without adding the words "if they're really gimp." I also dont like having to edit my parser later under character info and documenting the gimpness so that I dont think I'm better than I really am when I look at a random parse.

possibly, but I kited him in the BC circle they spawn in. the distance across the BC area is pretty small.

The last couple of fights, I just kited the mob over to one side, and held him there until BLM was down.

does Souleater or bloodweapon make the cardians rage? I know spikes effects, en-spells, and skillchain dmg doesnt cause Rage.

What's this rage business? I've done RR a few times in my day. I can remember spells making them slightly stronger, nothing close to a rage though. Or did i just luck out?

Thats a Jump set (like I said not a good one but all the same its a Jump set) not Idle or TP or WS

Think of it this way. JP. they wont get as absolutely horrible as an NA can get usually but you know there's going to be 2hDD without /sam leveled /nin onry askar helms with gimp weapons because they're unique snowflakes wearing weapons that even the gimp NA know not to get, dont know the proper buffs to give( at least with Na its easier to tell em stop giving me gimpshit rolls)and even the pimped out ones aint figured out that /nin sucks ass. Basically settling for Jp is normally settling for mediocrity. So with jp you have a 99% chance of a gimp or bad player while with Na you just can kick a gimp and at least have more than a 1% chance that the next guy is decent/good.
