So a few people in our linkshell felt like meriting after salvage. After about an hour a shitstorm of random dragoons and a samurai show up and try to outcamp us.

Oh pickup merits, how I've missed thee.
As far as I can tell they were all JP, and all fulltimed these sets aside from (very few) WS swaps.

actually i've been wondering about cor. /war and detonator spam (say no room for marks merits so slug seems a little wonky) or /rng with slug? Friend of mine absolutely loves /war and detonator spam at birds and he /dnc's at jade (war/sam X3 parties). Only cor i've seen do that on my server, and honestly I don't read too much about cor on here or KI.

I never got a chance to try Detonator either, however I can see it being pretty effective. Although Slug isn't TOO bad on birds even w/o merits in Marksmanship. I had a pretty decent rate and the only weak spot in my gear back then was my body. Since I used a relic coat because I couldn't get the limbus items to upgrade my body and finding a good group for Nyzul is easier said than done.

COR/WAR is the only way on bird merits. Yea you get a little more face smashed, but doing 2k Slugs even without merits in Marksmanship is bad-ass. Eat some Squid+1 and you remove the need of /RNG. I do /NIN at Mamools just to be safe.

Also, Detonator is about as strong as Slug on birds. I go back and forth depending on how cheeky I feel.

Detonator isn't that bad, if you're fighting a Wivre and it's taking a bit too long for some reason you should use that and not Slug due to it being more reliable. I'd say /WAR w/ Detonator beats /RNG and Slug but ideally it's /WAR and Slug (Martial gun helps).

COR is very fun if you can manage the bullet price and easy to gear for endgame since QD gear isn't too hard to come by.

my only concern is stuff like the acp body for QD. I have that as fastcast/enm for pld and drk (drk being my main and I'm probably not changing the body) Isn't the acp body for QD build the best by far? Or does anything buyable or obtainable via limbus or w/e come very close?

It's up in the air really. ACP body w/ Enm/Fast Cast is good for PLD but MAB/QD Dleay is just as powerful since fully merited your QD will be 45 sec each. And it's currently the only way to boost your QD damage on the body slot, everything else is AGI based. If you decide against it Denali Jacket is your best QD body then.

Yeah w/o ACP body Denali's the best. However, since COR is so much better as a job than PLD is, I'd make the switch if leveling COR and being anywhere near serious about it.

Also depends on the shell. If they're a fulltime PLD I'd stick with the current body. And there's also shells that don't care about QD half the time.

well honestly I like the body for drk tanking esp since i'm 9 jades from finishing my apoc. using it for pld is just a side bonus.

Honestly I don't want to change it, I really love the fast cast for utsu/stun/etc
